So many great live music festivals and events happening this summer from coast-to-coast has seemingly translated to an overload of artist interviews on Canadian Musician Radio.
This week, we speak with three highly-touted acts from rather different scenes: Halifax-based troubadour Adam Baldwin, Montreal folk quartet The Barr Brothers, and riff-driven rock duo PS I Love You. Andrew caught up with Baldwin just before his (terrific) performance at Charlottetown's Big Red Festival while Mike had a chance to speak with the other two during the 2014 run of NXNE.
Of course, Andrew and Mike will also have a run-through of the latest news from in and around the Canadian and international music industries. We look forward to having you join us!
Finally back at it live. Open lines if you want to call in. We could be talking about you. HA Har.

Canadian Musician's Mike Raine was on the ground for NXNE 2014 earlier in the month, and from that, we're pleased to bring you another show full of artist interviews.
First, Mike speaks with Montreal-based songwriter Ian Kelly, whose latest release, All These Lines, has benefitted from widespread acclaim. Take a look at the year he's had and what's in store for the rest of 2014.
Then, we'll speak with recently-announced Polairs Prize long-lister Kalle Mattson (it's pronounced Kale), who had actually just received the Polaris news minutes before sitting down with Mike. The Ottawa resident's Someday, the Moon Will Be Gold is a thing of brilliance and its first single, Pick Me Up, is a perfect summer jingle. Expect plenty more from this young man in the near future.
Finally, we're happy to bring you an exclusive interview with The Wilderness of Manitoba. They dropped The Leslieville Sessions EP last year and are currently busy prepping something new, so we tried to get some insight into what fans can expect. That and a whole lot more...
Why can't the church keep their musicians. Why are they leaving. How do you keep them happy and wanting to stay. What do the new breed musicians bring to the table?. How do you test the competency of your musician. What sounds good to the ear may not mean thats a match in heaven. What are the average salaries of musicians. What contributes to the lack of musicians learning and playing hymns. What contributes to a good music program?
Hailed by the New York Times as ‘a robust baritone’, a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City with recent debuts at Carnegie Hall, Canadian baritone Jonathan Estabrooks continues to make a unique and rich contribution to the performing arts world. His vocalism and performance style have been called “commanding, rich, fresh and energetic”, his stage presence likened to that of a young Ron Howard.
Mr. Estabrooks has appeared in recital, concert and opera in Canada, the United States and abroad. His impressive vocal delivery has taken him around the world, in Opera and concert performances and to venues such as Carnegie Hall and performances with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Israeli Chamber Orchestra and alongside Broadway stars Ashley Brown and Aaron Lazar. His performances have also been broadcast throughout Canada on CBC Television and he has performances for the Governor General, The Prime Minister of Canada, the US Ambassador to Canada, The Italian Ambassador to Canada and President Bill Clinton.
Jonathan joins me this evening for a very promising evening of ‘great talk’ and exceptional performances.
