Troy Doherty: from TV to music. Doe Paoro: music and mystery

    in Music

Doe Paoro  is a Brooklyn-based, California-loving songwriter and vocalist whose music both uplifts and unsettles, entertains and mystifies.  With an operatic-range voice honed by studying Tibetian folk opera, she is a unique force in today’s music scene.  Her 2012 debut Slow to Love introduced her with stark production and a raw, ethereal vocals. Her most recent album, After,  maintains the soulful intensity but is majestic with  finely textured sound.  Her sound is unique, her songwriting gut-punching and her voice magical…an artist to watch.

Troy Doherty is a triple threat - singer, songwriter, and actor – whose sound is a mix of blues and pop-rock . Troy began learning piano and guitar around the age of 10, experimenting with musical influences including Led Zepplin, Journey  and pop-rock on the radio. His debut EP, Citizen’s Arrest, was made possible through the help of successful Kick Starter campaign funds which exceeded the fundraising goal, demonstrating the depth of emotion of his fans.

    Tate's Take: Kentucky Lucky

    in Sports

As we inch closer by the day to the most electrifying and energetic 3 weeks in all of sports, the #1 team in the country Kentucky Wildcats continue their quest to exceed excellence and chase perfection, standing in their way is only 3 more games of the regular season prior to entering SEC conference tournament play. A chance to make history and put their very own stamp on the college basketball landscape is merely the main objective and most common goal in Lexington that has seen so many great teams come and go, but to hang banners and only banners, has UK's sights set on a much bigger picture... The 2015 NCAA national championship. The road to a perfect 40-0 undefeated season continues...

Wisconsin-Kentucky, The Autopsy. Bobby Gonzalez and Ian O'Connor

    in Basketball

Yes, Bobby Gonzalez picked Kentucky to go all the way ... but always included the caveat that a lot would have to go wrong for them to lose in this tourney, and a lot would have to go right for someone else to beat them.

That's exactly what happened last night.

Kentucky only made three 3-pointers, only shot 10 free throws, got outrebounded by 12 ... but more than anything else, they did not do the things they were known for, the things that got them to 38-0.

They always played to win in close games, instead of not to lose, except last night they were up 4 with under 5 minutes to go but then got very tentative with their offense, having three shot clock violations and not getting the ball into an unstoppable force, big man Karl Anthony Towns, down the stretch.

They did not get stops like they always had in the last few minutes, and ultimately Wisconsin did to Kentucky what Kentucky did to everyone else all year ... they closed out the game with all the big shots, big defensive stops and big plays down the stretch.

Coach Bo Ryan took advantage of matchups and exploited Kentucky with his multi-dimensional and multi-skilled front court of Frank Kaminsky Sam Dekker and Nigel Hayes. All that was up for discussion this morning on Ian O'Connor's radio show on ESPN Radio in New York.

    Final Four 2015: Wisconsin-Kentucky preview

    in Sports

Can Frank Kaminsky, Sam Dekker and the Wisconsin Badgers overcome the powerhouse Kentucky Wildcats? How can the Badgers stop Willie Cauley-Stein, Karl-Anthony Towns and Aaron Harrison?

Who else needs to step up besides Wisconsin's big two. Can Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig and Josh Gasser all contribute, and will Duje Dukan and Zak Showalter provide key minutes off the bench?

WIll Bo Ryan's team get to the magical National title game against Duke or Big Ten rival Michigan State?

We preview this on today's show!
