A memoir begins with the need to tell a story. The story often contains a momentous life situation which the author needs to excavate and examine in order to discover how the event shaped his or her values and opinions. Telling the story in a way that readers can see themselves can create a healing experience for both the writer and the reader. In my case, I decided to break my silence about my husband's death in the Vietnam War.
Ruth W. Crocker, Ph.D is an author, writing consultant and expert on recovery from trauma and personal tragedy. Her book, Those Who Remain: Remembrance and Reunion After War describes her experience following her husband’s death in Vietnam and how she found resources for healing. An excerpt has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Today we're talking about the buzz phrase "Content Marketing"
Over the last 40 years, I've been creating content for radio, TV, newsletter, the Internet and now social media. It's format and creating methods have changed, but the basics of telling a story and engaging an audience remains the goal.
No one knows this better than today's guest, Alan Bechtold. Alan has been making a living, and living his way, his whole life. He's share some of that, but most of the show is meant to explain how you can use the tools today to to make your own content, share easily with your prospects, customers, audience and fans while postitioning yourself and your company/brand as the experts in your field.
I know Alan will resonate with you as he does with me. Listen in on our conversation and connect with Alan Bechtold at emediamoguls.com
It was several years ago that I first heard about the History Publishing Company. Rather than be a general publisher owner Don Bracken had a vision, the books would be in the genre 'Living History', Idealy the authors would write first hand accounts of their personal experience in global and national events. HPC has expanded their imprints to Todays Books which looks at modern society and Chronology Books a chance to meet vicariously meet interesting people through their life experiences.
Don himself is no slouch at the writing table, one of my favorite books is Words of War. The Civil War is an important part of our herritage, yet most books, particularly text books tend to offer a rather bland and often onesided view. Don took a unique approach, compare the popular newspaper accounts of the day? One from the North and one from the South.
I am looking forward to catching up with Don Bracken.
