Since 2011, Walter Powell has led the Racers in receiving yards and touchdowns. In 2013 his final season at Murray State, Powell finished with 66 catches 837 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.He added another 346 return yards from kickoffs, with a whopping 31.5 yards average return, that included one touchdown. The Racers standout was also invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.
