Methylation, MTHFR, Nutrigenomics and epigenetics are words on everyone's lips lately. Many claim to be able to treat these, but do they really?
Methylation, MTHFR, Epigenetics and Nutrigenomics have become industry buzz words and big business. On Monday, June 22, 2015 at 8PM eastern, Dr. Jess Armine and Shawn Bean uncover the truth.
It takes years of study and clinical experience in order to understand the genes, determine their expression (if any) and their place in your overall health scenario. In fact, Bio-Individualized Medicine was created with all these aspects in mind. But...it takes effort. Many providers wanted shortcuts....and they have been accomodated!
In this podcast we will show you examples of quickie weekend courses whose sole purpose is to increase the doctors practice and sell product, uncover computer programs that look at snps and then tell providers what to prescribe, inform you of services that will look at your snps and package "snp specific" vitamins, and more.
We will tell you what to look for in a practitioner to determine if they have the expertise to treat you effectively or they are just just selling you a bill of goods.
Shawn Bean is wanting to know YOUR honest opinion about MTHFR and methylation as well as other topic related things. What are other practitioners doing which maybe harmful for other people that are wanting to get MTHFR treated? This show will be about callers and clinical nutritionist Shawn Bean will be your host. Our medical disclaimer is available at: http://www.mthfrsupport.com
We will be going over the topics of methylation, MTHFR and gut heath. Dr. Tim Jackson and Sterling Hill, founder of MTHFRsupport.com, will be your hosts and will also talk about future guests and take calls from listeners.
We will explain why MTHFR is only a small part of methylation and why healing the gut is a must before starting a MTHFR protocol.
IT HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR DECADES THAT FOLIC ACID IS CRUCIAL FOR THE DEVELOPING CHILD DURING PREGNANCY. WITH SOME OF THE NEWEST STUDIES AND TECHNIQUES FOR TESTING, WE CALL INTO QUESTION THE TYPES OF FOLATE USED. WE WILL LOOK AT MTHFR AND THE GENETIC PREDISPOSITION TO PROBLEMS IN THIS AREA. THIS SHOW IS A MUST FOR PREGNANT OR SOON TO BE PREGNANT WOMEN.

Cancer!!! Are there options in the Alternative Care Arena??
On Monday, 1/18/16 at 8PM eastern, Dr. Jess Armine has the honor of interviewing Dr. Nasha Winters. Nasha Winters, ND, L.Ac, Dipl.OM, FABNO completed her training in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Albuquerque, NM 2000 and her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Tempe, AZ in 2003 and is board certified and licensed in both.
Dr. Nasha Winters approaches each client she has the privilege to meet with fresh eyes and an open heart, acknowledging the infinite, biochemically individual being before her. The concept of “Personalized Medicine” is just taking root in western medicine though Dr. Winters has never deviated from this concept in nearly 25 years of working in the health care industry.
Unlike the standard of care methods of clinical oncology, Dr. Nasha focuses on treating the whole person. The tools in her tool box focus on supporting the healthy cells, increasing the effectiveness of conventional treatments, preventing chemo-resistance, helping one stay on schedule with the treatments, and treating the sometimes awful side effects one may endure. Her job continues long after the debulking process is complete. She is there to help the body heal from the treatments, investigate the underlying cause of the cancer, and implement a diet and lifestyle that aims to prevent recurrence. Dr. Nasha loves educating the masses with particular focus on mitochondrial health and function from the abstract to the concrete by blending ancient wisdom with modern science to bring individuals back to optimal health in mind, body and spirit.

ABOUT TODAY'S SHOW:
Today’s guest is Dr. MaryAnn Block, ‘Medical Detective’. Dr. Block believes the MTHFR gene mutation is a highly significant public health problem that is completely ignored. There are literally millions of people who are suffering from pulmonary embolisms, addictions, fibromyalgia, miscarriages, schizophrenia, severe depression, cancer and autism to name a few. All of these issues may be linked to a MTHFR gene mutation, which expresses these symptoms and health conditions. The lab test to determine which MTHFR mutations are present is only about $150.00, and yet most insurance companies won’t pay for it.
Today, we’ll be talking about what MTHFR is, why it’s important, why women especially should be tested for this gene, and which supplements are important if you discover that you have this gene.

Then he comments on the DPC online registration and member management company Hint Health and EMR's Elation and Praxis.
After ten minutes he starts the Blog review about MTHFR, a gene and enzyme of major significance. Site intro about NCCAM.NIH.GOV, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Site comments about OMIM site. Additional comments about patient rapport. Come on in.
