Tr*be Cloth*ng Co. was started by two brothers, Mike and Erick Hamme, who believed that they could take one good idea and use it to make the world a better place - that if someone would just take the time to search, they would find enough awesome recycled clothing to form a company whose sole purpose was to help those people in the world who are suffering and dying for lack of resources. So, they pulled together the few resources they had and with the help of their family formed tr*be in the spring of 2012. As young adults in America we have the most, as well as the best clothes in the entire world. We we believe, with your help, we can take those clothes and use them to make a real impact by feeding the poor, bringing clean water to the thirsty, and freeing those under the bondage of slavery and oppression.
As founders of tr*be, Erick and Mike want to thank you for taking the time to learn about our company. And maybe, just maybe. you will be inspired to come along side us, and work to make a difference for those who suffer day in and day out. We want to make their fight - our fight. But after graduating from college, adventure was calling my name! I spent five years traveling all over the world working on a yacht (thanks to the suggestion of my uncle). But in 2007, I finally decided to hang up my deck shoes and come back to Galveston.
I got another degree, but found myself working in retail at The Style Co., a women's clothing boutique located in Galveston's East End Historical District. I was working two jobs while looking for what I call my "big girl job" when the opportunity to buy The Style Co. literally fell into my lap, and I took over ownership Nov. 1, 2011. It was both one of the happiest and scariest days of my life. Looking back at my journey I had no idea I would own my own business. I had spent years floating along with no real direction. I know now that every experience and path I've taken has led me to this very point...home and I'm exactly where I should be. I have no idea if this is what I will do for the rest of my life, but I'm content and the happiest I've ever been. Bring on the the future... I'm ready and excited to see whats next!"
