Mark Stolaroff (PT ) is an indiet producer & a founding partner of Antic Pictures, an LA-based production company producing a slate of low budget, high quality digital features. Stolaroff produced Pig, the 4th feature from award-winning writer/director Henry Barrial (Some Body). With Ron Judkins, Stolaroff produced Barrial's 3rd feature, True Love, developed in the 2003 Sundance Screenwriters Lab. He also co-produced the 2005 feature documentary Paper Chasers, & was Associate Producer of The Trouble With Men & Women (2006). Stolaroff was formerly a principal of Next Wave Films, a company of The Independent Film Channel that provided finishing funds to exceptional, low budget films; & through its production arm Agenda 2000, financed & executive produced digital features. Included in Next Wave's 13 films are Christopher Nolan's (The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Memento,) first feature, Following; Joe Carnahan's (Narc, Smokin' Aces) first feature, Blood, Guts, Bullets, & Octane; Amir Bar Lev's (My Kid Could Paint That) first feature Fighter; the Academy Award-nominated documentary Sound & Fury; & the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning documentary Southern Comfort. He was Associate Producer on a number of Next Wave projects, including Some Body & Manic, two digital features at 2001 Sundance Film Festival, & the award-winning theatrical documentary Keep The River On Your Right: A Modern Cannibal Tale. Next Wave took 7 films to Sundance and 5 to Toronto; 9 were released theatrically in the U.S. & 2 premiered on HBO; 9 were shot digitally & 6 of those were transferred to film. Stolaroff lectures on low budget & digital filmmaking throughout the world. He currently serves on the advisory board of Filmmakers Alliance. Rex Sikes Movie Beat chats w director Jim Wynorski
Jim Wynorski, director, producer writer is a veteran in the Hollywood exploitation field, who is responsible for over 180 varied motion pictures in a myriad of genres. Wynorski left a successful commercial business in NYC moved to L A in 1980 and soon found himself in the company of his childhood idol Roger Corman. He was soon hired by the renowned Corman to cut "coming attractions" for the company's action and horror films. Not too long after that Corman offered him his first of many writing/directing assignments. The first picture he wrote and directed was Chopping Mall and the rest was history. From that point on he directed an average of three to five films a year, even more as a producer/writer. He is responsible for a steady stream of exploitation flicks during the 80s like Big Bad Mama II with Angie Dickinson, Not Of This Earth with Traci Lords and The Return Of The Swamp Thing with Heather Locklear. In the 90s, Jim continued with flicks like Hard Bounty starring Kelly LeBrock, Point Of Seduction: Body Chemistry III & Body Chemistry 4: Full Exposure with Shannon Tweed and Morgan Fairchild and Munchie which featuredthen-unknown 12-year-old child actress Jennifer Love Hewitt. Wynorski innovated new special effects techniques that got him no less than seven world premieres on the Sci-Fi Channel. with films like Gargoyle, The Curse of the Komodo, Project Viper and Cry of the Winged Serpent. Wynorski continues a made pace making independent movies for release and for cable and premium channels. Dr. Beth Haney earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2010, her Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2000 and prior to that in 1994, her Bachelor's degree in Nursing, both from Loma Linda University. She has worked in urgent care and family practice as an advanced practice nurse practitioner since 2000 and entered the aesthetics industry in 2002.Dr. Haney currently serves on the Board of Directors as President of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners (CANP). Beth has held leadership positions in CANP for over 7 years, both at local and state levels. She is a frequent speaker at professional conferences and events locally and internationally and has done many presentations on aesthetic practice, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Beth is also an invited guest to the annual Advisory Board meeting for Nursing Services Organization and was involved in the development of their aesthetic practice insurance policy. In 2011 she served on a legislative task force for the American College of Nurse Practitioners where she obtained and provided legislative information regarding specific California state legislative strategies to the leadership and members.Beth is the author of Be You-T-Full: Looking Your Best With Botox, Lasers, and Other Magical Cosmetic Treatments, a book on cosmetic treatments and non-surgical options for men and women who choose not to partake in surgical procedures but seek information on rejuvenation treatments. The book is a fun, entertaining read but will also afford a large amount of useful information on subjects many people want to know but don’t know how or who to ask.
