Because of the lingering stigma attached to the selling profession, many people just simply decide to not do it. Many Service businesses have chosen to invest heavily in marketing (creating awareness) online marketing and social media marketing have become by far the go to move for attracting business. Because of this the skills associated with asking for money and overcoming objections are prized but rarerer skills. Lets talk about it.
Here is the major dichotomy: You must Sell Your Services but you hate Selling. Hmmmm.... you must learn and master a selling process yourself but you hate going through someone elses sales process.

People choose to hire and buy based on either Emotion or Logic primarily. Emotion is the way a person imagines that they will feel about themselves after the purchase or the way they imagine other people will about them after the purchase. Logic is because it makes sense, or a smart thing to do, or a good deal.
People buy 9xs faster for emotional reasons than logical reasons.

Donald E. Taylor was appointed as the Associate Director for Facility Support effective April 2014. He came to the FHCC after serving in leadership positions in the community, private industry and the U.S. Air Force. He retired in the grade of Colonel in 2006. During his career, he served in various positions across military medicine, where he developed strategy and served as health policy/plans advisor to the Air Force Surgeon General. He has served in various command positions and culminated his 27 year military career as the Vice Commander of the 59th Medical Wing (Wilford Hall Medical Center) in San Antonio, Texas. He also served as the commander of the Air Force Theater Hospital at Balad AB, Iraq in 2006. Among his military awards are the Legion of Merit (3), Bronze Star and Iraqi Campaign Medal. He is on the Board of Directors of the Air Force Association and chairs their national Wounded Airman Program.
Linda Shaffer-Vanaria is a thought leader, executive coach, consultant and speaker working internationally with some of the world’s finest companies. She is the CEO and founder of Enterprise Coaching of Carlsbad based in San Diego. It will be June in 2 weeks from today. June is the 6th month of the year. Half-way through and I wonder how many of you have stayed motivated, stayed on track to goals you set for yourself at the start of the year? Whether you called them new year resolutions or not, there is a strong chance there were some goals set, even if they were set for you by a boss who gave you quotas to meet, or a Coach who gave you a road map to something.
You decide on a goal, you know up front it is not going to happen overnight, yet somewhere along the way, you give up and go home. Huh???
How do you stay motivated?
How do you stay on track when your goal is still miles away from completion?
Resting and reviewing is important. Just do not sit on that plateau and make that your new permanent level.
