William Budge – art director, production designer, and concept artistWilliam Budge recently completed art direction on a Sony / Fox pilot entitled Rake. Rake was directed by Sam Mendes (Spiderman 1 – 3, The Evil Dead, Oz, The Great And Powerful), and stars Greg Kinnear. Rake will be on Fox Thursday nights starting in 2014.In 2012 William art directed the film The Iceman, (directed by Ariel Vromen and starring Michael Shannon, Wynona Ryder, Chris Evans, and James Franco. In 2011 William art directed two films starring academy award winner Nicholas Cage; Trespass(directed by Joel Schumacher and co-starring academy award winner Nicole Kidman) and Drive Angry (directed by Patrick Lussier and co-starring Amber Heard). William collaborated with producer/director Robert Rodriguez on conceptual art for a new version of the film Red Sonja that was to star Rose Mcgowan and art directed the Michael Jackson This is It tour. Worked with award winning director Wim Wenders on the filmsLand Of Plenty starring Michelle Williams and Don't Come Knocking (written by and starring Sam Shepard, with Jessica Lange, Tim Roth, and Sarah Polley) garnered a German Film Award nomination for Best Production Design as well as nominations for Best Film at Cannes and the European Film Awards. A Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design and an International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) led William to continue his education under the tutelage of the legendary Robert F. Boyle at the prestigious American Film Institute in Hollywood, CA. He has designed stores for the Disney Stores, Inc, and created conceptual art for many commercials. He is the founder of the red5 design group, an innovative environmental design group focusing on furthering the art of production design for cinema. On Monday, June 17th at 3pm EST, we'll present director Jon Reino of the short film "Thinner Blood," which premiered at the prestigious Montclair Film Festival, and won Best Short Film at the 2013 The Set NYC Screening Series. The film also received four stars from Film Threat Magazine, and was hailed as "visually striking and emotionally effecting by FilmSnobbery
Thinner Blood tells the story of Olive and her little sister Ava, who have fallen victim to child abuse while living with their abusive, alcoholic mother. Although both girls protect their mother out of fear of her violent outbursts, Olive always protects and puts her sister first. About the director: Reino began experimenting with video and photography since the age was 12, shooting skateboarding videos. Eventually he took up TV production classes in high school and went on to attend Montclair State University where he obtained BFA Degree in Filmmaking. Previous films include the well received short thriller Downward and the documentary The Tattoo Life, which won Best Documentary at the 2012 Flamingo Film Festival.
