3 Moves Ahead... is a platform set up to help bridge the gap between men and women, open up a discussion and establish a launching pad that not only focuses on masculine views, which have been almost totally diminished, but to help both sides obtain a mutual understanding..... The outcome should be a happy, healthy, and productive relationship via searching for what is and where is the Middle.

As the old saying goes, "It's NOT what you know but WHO you know." We are going to take it a step futher "It's NOT what you know but WHO you know AND WHAT THEY ARE WILLING & READY TO DO FOR YOU." For entrepreneurs, this couldn't be truer. Building relationships can play a pivotal role in the success of your startup, as it can lead to important introductions to investors, potential clients, future hires and advisors. But it isn't easy. Relationships need trust and rapport, which requires consistent contact over time. For those looking to nurture and build valued connections, here are some tips: Be helpful. In a professional setting, people like to have relationships with those that can help their career or business. Be that person. It will help both your network and you get stronger. Offer relevant and mutually beneficial introductions. Provide advice, expertise or feedback. Share information such as events, articles or research that may be helpful. Promote your contact's work by sharing it with others. Amy Zuniga runs the Mommy Mixers at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas TX. She is joining me to discuss support for new moms--why it's important, how to connect with other moms, where to find support, and other topics. I'll discuss some ways that I use music as mommy support. We'll even take questions if you want to call in. This will become a monthly series, too, so that we can provide ongoing support for other moms.
Living in the south, with all its charms, traditions and iconography does not offer access into certain aspects of her history, especially when that history involves discussions around the Civil War and the Confederacy. The inability to rake through the smoldering ashes of a war fought 150 years ago, allows for a one-sided narrative that sometimes misrepresents the causes for war, the people - enslaved and free - who lived through the war and and its aftermath. Although it is a necessary, and some might add, long overdue undertaking, it is also anxiety ridden, especially within the black community.
How can parents of color approach this subject and explain to their children a war fought over, among other things, a system of that relegated their ancestors to permanent servitude?
Today, the Mommy Chronicles is on site as the Alabama State University Department of History and Political Science explores those issues by examining the Civil War history at its first Confederate Memorial Day "Mini" Conference.
