the revolution of the mind continues....
but massa good to us ... How Black Americans Support and Finance Modern Slavery
Unbeknownst to many Americans, slavery was never abolished. The 13th amendment to the constitution states it plainly. The methods have changed, but the practice is the same.
Now the slavery is called fancy names like "mass incarceration" and the plantation is now "the prison industrial complex"...
And we Black Americans support it. In thought and with our finances .. Most without even realizing it. Black support for modern slavery of Black Americans is entrenched in our everyday life.
Tune in Tuesday night at 10pm if you are ready to wake up and see the matrix.

International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that is dedicated to securing justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression in response to the biblical call to justice. IJM at UVA meets on Grounds every Thursday at 5PM. They plan events throughout the year to raise awareness and promote change in the Charlottesville community.
Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.
As the IJM Campus Chapter at UVa, the organization seeks to further the mission of IJM and work towards the eradication of modern-day slavery and human trafficking by taking a three-pronged approach:
• Awareness- raising university-wide and community-wide awareness of the issue
• Action- engaging the community through awareness-raising events, advocacy, and prayer
• Aid- fundraising to further the work of IJM both locally and internationally
Help fight for the rights of 27 million people enslaved in our world today!

If you though slavery was abolished in the 1800's then, you have another thing coming. In the 21st Century, right here in the Grand United States of America we have a slavery problem of mass proportions... We call it The Prison Industrialization Complex and it affects Blacks, White, Latinos and those without means to have an attorney represent them in cases all across this country. With the prison systems going toward privatization fill quotas and sentences are “creative” to say the least. Hence, the “New Slaves.”
Join us and our special co-host Max Parthas of the New Abolitionists Radio station on Black Talk Radio Network, as we delve into this topic head on.
Max comes to us with many years of hands on experience and from the trenches of today’s topics of race, politics and the Prison Industrialization Complex. He is a husband, father, friend and prolific poet. You may remember him from a previous show on Howelegant and Toi talks on the Mask of Racism.
With the upcoming elections, the status of race relations and equality in America, you can expect that we will have a powerful conversation on this subject and those that directly relate to slavery and it’s metamorphosis in the United State of America!
Come prepared to learn, be challenged and called to task by our dynamic co-host of the evening! You will not be disappointed.
Today on Life, Love, No Chaser we'll take a look into Private Prisons, and whether there is societal redemption after you "pay your debt" by doing your time. Share your personal story of struggle or success if you've been in the system. We will be joined by Joseph Jackson, coordinator of The Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition (MPAC) located in Bangor Maine.
Bob and Dave take a look at Battle for Zendikar and ponder all the questions you have for what the set means for Modern. Will Modern care? Is it fair U/W Control got hooked up while red settles for a hobo's fingerless gloves? Tune in to find out at your favorite Modern podcast no one listens to!
Are we still affected by slavery today? Was slavery a plot by the "white man" to keep us down or biblical prophesy for disobedience to God and his commandments? Come and join us as we discuss this Black history topic.
