The weekend sports recap, Masters; NHL; NBA; MLB; and NFL.

    in Sports

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will recap the jam packed weekend, in the world of sports.  Golf had the Masters, hockey set their playoff schedule, baseball completed their first full weekend, basketball has teams battling for the final playoff spots, and football is preparing for the NFL Draft.

Jordan Spieth went wire to wire, to the Green Jacket.  He blazed out to the lead, on Thursday, and never looked back.  Spieth tied Tiger Woods record, 18 under par.  At one point, Spieth pushed that to 19 under par, which is the first time anyone flirted with 20 under par.  At 21 years old, Spieth not only tied Tiger Woods record, but also won the Masters, at 21 years old, the same age as Woods.  Woods may not have won, but finished 5 under par, and tied for 17th place.  Do you think that this was a win for Woods, since he has struggled to finish tournaments?

The NHL playoff schedule is set, and it came down to the last regular season game, to set seeds and teams.  The Pittsburgh Penguins dropped game 81, to the New York Islanders, setting up a win or stay home game Saturday night, against the Buffalo Sabres.  The Penguins prevailed, and will take on top seeded New York Rangers.

The Milwaukee Bucks who had the worst record a year ago, clinched a playoff spot.  Would you consider Jason Kidd for coach of the year?  Who will clinch the final playoff sports in the Eastern Conference?

After the weekend, there were two undeafeated teams, the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals. Both entered play, on Monday 6-0.  The Tigers fell to the Pittsburgh Pirates, to end their undefeated start.  The Royals continued their hot streak by demolishing the Minnesota Twins.  Listen in and call the show with your thoughts, on the weekend, in sports.
