The Total Tutor will interview Kailey Swanson. Kailey Swanson, a young country singer who is set to take over the Nashville country music scene. Kailey just released her newest single “Country Love Song” and will premiere the video on April 15th. The bright, upbeat tune captives listeners with its catchy, sing-along lyrics, for all those country music haters to change their minds. This is the debut single for Kailey independently produced, who has built her fan following from roles on popular shows such as Disney’s “Kickin It”, ABC’s “Mixology,” and the Sundance award-winning musical, “The Legend Of Beaver Dam.”
Kailey, who was born and raised in Las Vegas, grew up singing Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline songs on her grandmother’s lap. Grandmother Swanson, a native of Kentucky, instilled a love for southern gospel and country music in the pint-sized songstress, which influences her songwriting to this day. When Kailey was nine years old, she booked her first professional performance and was cast in the American Girl Revue at the flagship American Girl store in Los Angeles. She continued to book film, TV and theatre roles, and began writing music inspired by her experiences.

I will also be discussion my role as being a part of a discussion panel called Girlz Rule for Mixology held in Baltimore, M.D. this past weekend. I met some wonderful ladies and it was so informative.
And last but not least, I was informed by my dear friend Bebe that I will be modeling for a new line of clothes from Dead Bad Designs. Hit me up for more info.

Valkyrians is a Philly-based band that has established a reputation of a band hard to categorize, but with a memorable sound. Their foundation in the alt-rock category is tainted by Cris Valkyria’s soft, but potent vocal work with melodic folk and world undertones. The incredibly counter-intuitive and octave-challenging harmonies provided by Valkyria and multi-instrumentalist/co-songwriter Lou Paglione will render you with a discombobulated, yet balanced and melodic impression. Valkyrian’s solid, but raw sound picture is vaguely reminiscent of the prime time of musical history, but the mixology of classic roots coupled with the cross-genre flirtations and melodic harmonies, will ultimately leave a novel and interesting residue. The debut album Scent of Breathlessness is hardly a quickly recorded demo. Cris Valkyria started some of the tracks on this album with Tyler Music Group in Nashville over 6 years ago, before meeting her musical soulmate Lou Paglione a few years later and forming a band with him and Mark Harris. Later, Joe Dessereau joined in with rhythmical contribution. Currently, they are active on the music scene in the tri-state area. For more information, visit www.crisvalkyria.com

Mixology whiz Dee Dee Samaan doesn’t skimp when it comes to holiday cocktails. In fact, she’s got one for all Twelve Days of Christmas. “Day One’s drink is Malibu and cranberry. To make it, take six ounces of cranberry juice, one ounce of Malibu rum, and some ice. Day Two is a chocolate cake shot. There’s no chocolate in it, but when you combine these ingredients, it tastes just like a chocolate cake: half an ounce of hazelnut-flavored liqueur—like Frangelico—half an ounce of vanilla vodka, a lemon wedge, and some sugar. Next, frost the rim of an old fashioned glass with the sugar and lemon. Then add the vodka and hazelnut liqueur, and stir. Then lick the sugar rim, take a long sip of the drink and bite a piece of the lemon.” Comfort and joy, indeed, Dee Dee!
