Contessa has been involved with the Upper Canada Chapter of Women in Aviation International since 2002. She is on the Board of Directors since 2008, and is currently Chapter President. Every two years women and men from all areas of aviation come together with experts, specialists and role models at the Canadian Women in Aviation Conference. Participants can expect the latest industry news, speakers and panel discussions to enhance their knowledge of aviation and also prepare their careers for take off. This is an excellent opportunity for valuable networking, a chance to renew old friendships and create new ones.
The conference is from June 19 to 22 at the Novotel in Mississauga. The conference theme is Prepare to Succeed. www.cwia.ca/conference.htm. In addition to supporting those already in the industry, the CWIA encourages more young women to pursue aviation related careers.

Time Out Sports Radio Show
Time Out Sports Show Radio will be talking with our guest will be Rob Frid, former enforcer in the OHL, personal trainer/MMA fighter Adrian Vilaca and current NOJHL enforcer Grant Syrette. We will be talking about Rob’s career and how his concussion’s are affecting his life after hockey and how fighting is affecting hockey.
Adrian Vilaca has an extensive background in athletics and competed in a variety of including competitive hockey and football for White Pines Collegiate in Sault Ste Marie and lacrosse. He wrestled for Lake Superior University and is currently an active competitor in mixed martial arts. He has experience coaching athletes at a variety of levels from Junior, OHL, AHL, Europe and NHL.
Grant Syrette stands at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds. He also has a reputation as a hard-hitting, gritty skater. The forward spent one and a half seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, with the Mississauga Steelheads, though a broken ankle in the summer sidelined him, and he spent the 2012-2013 season in a Soo Thunderbirds jersey.
