    Interview with Alessia Cohle

    in Music

Mississauga, Ontario's ALESSIA COHLE began her life in music at a very early age when she began playing piano and singing at age four. Her passion for country music began after attending her first concert – Shania Twain’s ‘Come On Over Tour’ — at age 8. This experience ignited a spark, inspiring her to follow a career in music. Soon, Alessia began performing at local fairs and festivals, as well as on stage with her singer grandfather, and her bass-playing father.

Alessia is poised to contribute to the future of country music with the release of her debut EP “Let’s Get Gone” in the spring of 2015. Alessia explains: “It’s a collection of songs that reflect my personality, allowing me to entirely expose my heart and soul. The lyrics in each song express a different message ranging from love, heartache, self- discovery and self-worth. These songs, both lyrically and melodically, have given me the opportunity to grow as a person and an artist.” The first single “Sunday Shoes” hit radio back in April, 2015.The song is infectious and will make you want to sing along and muddy up those shoes! Other stand out tracks on the EP included “Here Comes the Summer”, “Chain It Up”, and the title track, “Let’s Get Gone” – which were written or co-written by Alessia.

Tune in and get to know Alessia and her music!

    in Football

Quarterback Brandon Bridge will attempt to make America’s team as an undrafted free agent. The native of Mississauga, Ont., said Sunday he has agreed to attend the Dallas Cowboys’ rookie mini-camp next weekend at Valley Ranch. Bridge added he hasn’t signed with the NFL club as of yet."I’m very excited about this," Bridge said in a telephone interview. "I’m really looking forward to it."Veteran Tony Romo is Dallas’s starter, with Brandon Weeden and Dustin Vaughan listed as his backups. It’s worth noting Romo signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Illinois after being bypassed in the 2003 NFL draft.Bridge became a free agent after being overlooked in this year’s draft, which concluded Saturday in Chicago. The six-foot-four 229-pound Bridge was looking to become the first Canadian-born quarterback selected since 2001 when Ottawa’s Jesse Palmer went in the fourth round to the New York Giants.

The Alex Cardinale Show Episode 33: Interview with New Stems Tal Davidson

    in Radio

On this episode of the Alex Cardinale Show, Alex will be interviewing his first Musicain ever on the Alex Cardinale Show! Alex welcomes New Stems, a Canadian Music band that is really good! Alex will be interviewing New Stems Member Tal Davidson and Tal will explain his band to us and we will have the honor of hearing some of their wonderful music.

If you have any questions, please call in at 1 323-642-1605.

    About New Stems:

All four members of New Stems have been comrades, amigos, and best buds since the early days of high school. Tal and Jordan started performing together as an acoustic duo under the name “The Stems”, but quickly expanded their resources to include Daniel in 2009. Several years went by with a rotating cast of bass players. In 2011, Adam decided to start playing the bass, and, as he was already a good friend, adding him was a natural fit.

Although we cater to a wide range of audiences our sound is often described with adjectives such as: “folk”, “organic”, “jammy”, “wacky”, and most notably, “the cat’s pyjamas”. We draw inspiration from groups like The Beatles, Phish, The Flaming Lips, Pavement and The Grateful Dead. Our oeuvre ranges from psychedelic rock to country, with a recurring focus on unique collaborative improvisation - we explore the myriad possibilities both within and outside of our songs.

We have recently been recording at Metalworks Studios in Mississauga, under the supervision of producer extraordinaire Adam Feldman. It’s been a ton of fun, and we’re really excited to get the new recordings released.

    Amelia Marcus & Kaitlin Kozell

    in Music

AMELIA MARCUS was born and raised in the small town of Bothwell, Ontario. Ever since she was a little girl, her interest in singing and performing was quite evident. She started singing at the age of 4 and every night she would sing along side her Dad while he played away on the keyboard. Amelia also took piano, drum, guitar and modeling lessons throughout her childhood years. In 2008, Amelia got in touch with Lake Effect Studio (Jim Hopson) and started working on a 3-song demo. She is now releasing her debut album Take Me Back featuring the current single Just Another Day (Trying Not To Love You).

Mississauga, Ontario's KAITLIN KOZELL was one of the top eight finalists in the Emerging Artist Showcase at the 2014 Boots & Hearts music festival. Since being added to the roster of Leafs anthem singers in the late fall of 2011 and performing at her first game in January of 2012, Kaitlin has had the opportunity to perform at numerous Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Marlies, and other MLSE events and functions. Kaitlin's latest single is called Heart Of This Home. It was just announced that Kaitlin will be part of the artist lineup at Boots & Hearts 2015 at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds, Oro-Medonte in August.
