Don't forget about the 'B'. A discussion on bisexuality.

    in LGBT

Everyone has heard of the LGBT community, right? But, does everyone know what it stands for? For those of you who don't, here you go: Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender.

For some reason the 'B' in the acronym is always overlooked or downplayed. The bisexual community faces a lot of slack and are called 'confused' or 'greedy' by those who don't fully understand their place on the needle of human sexuality. Recently, Love and HIp Hop star Miles Brock was spotted with Sundy Carter from the Basketball Wives franchise. On the show Miles was in a same-sex relationship with Milan Christopher. Now that he is with Sundy, his claim of being bisexual is attacked and ridiculed. Is this fair?

This episode will discuss the B and the misconceptions about those who claim to equally desire both genders.

Click here for more info about the MIles, Milan and Sundy triad.

    Stress Management for Teenage Girls

    in Education

Being a teenager today means having to handle more stress and pressure than most previous generations.  In a recent study, over 60% of teenage girls complained of feeling severely stressed.  Without the proper resources and emotional tools, young women can find themselves struggling in their daily lives.  By helping them identify the causes of their stress and learn effective ways to manage it, teens can significantly reduce the toll it takes on their emotional and physical health.

Professional counselor Karen Rigatti discusses some frequently asked questions:

What are the most common sources of stress for today's teen girls?

What are some of the signs of being too stressed?

What can parents do to help their teen if she is overly stressed?

How can teens learn to manage and decrease their stress?

    in Politics

This banner headline, over a story in the August 15, 1959 issue of the New Crusader, a Chicago based African American newspaper, signaled the start of the FBI's second major counterintelligence offensive aimed at destroying the Nation of Isalm?(As stated  earlier, the first campaign ended successfully in 1942, after the FBI hired black police officers as "temporary" FBI agents assigned to infiltrate the Nation of Islam.)
The article's author, Mohd Yakub Khan ( an orthodox Muslim of Pakistani origin the fact that his middle name is that of the villain of NOI demonology appears to be a coincidence)  had gotten his information from selection of the FBI's file on Wallace Farad, which it released in response to the surge in the NOI membership that had followed the television broadcast.  "The Hate that Hate Produced."  The information the FBI provided to the New Crusader was incomplete but accurate, however, fortunately for Elijah Muhammad, as it turned out, the author misread the file on a number of circulation points. The article claimed, for example, that Elijah Muhammad and Wallace Dood Fard had concocted the ideas for the Nation Of Isalm when both were incarcerated in a federal prison in Milan, Michigan in 1943.  It claimed that Fard was Turkish and had been a Nazi agent" during World War II."
I say that these statements are leading into the WHITE MANS adage "DESPRATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES."  When the supernatural happens the fear of the White man is great and he tries to explain away things with illogical measures, but to som and themselves they seem true but are nothing but lies.  The Quran says that the disbelievers have been "taught to lie from birth" and I have found this to be so in many incidents. Since they could not explain away Malcolm's premonition in prison......

Jeffrey Perren Returns to the CL Gammon Show

    in Books

Novelist Jeffrey Perren talks about his new novel: Tellen Song: or, the education of Wilhelm Tell.

About Tellen Song: or, the education of Wilhelm Tell:

1307 AD — The Legend Ends, the Story Begins...

Wilhelm Tell, hunter and builder in Üri, dares to disrespect the envious bailiff Gessler, appointed ruler of the southern forest cantons by King Albrecht of Germany. Sentenced to slavery until he completes building Gesslerburg, Tell escapes over the Alpine mountains to Lombardy.

But the political upheaval in his homeland is mirrored there. Drawn unwillingly into the squabbles between the Pope-supporting Guelphs and the Ghibellines, who side with the Emperor, he longs to rejoin his own independence movement.

A fugitive from Schwyz and a misfit in Milan, Tell finally sees his chance to return to lead his people. Will he forge a lasting freedom for himself, his family, and his countrymen? Or will his own brethren betray him, and themselves, at the crucial moment?

Harking back to the founding of the Swiss Confederacy, Tellen Song tells the story of its legendary founder — set among all the rich historical details of the 14th century.
