We got to rub elbows with the cast of the Love Boat and about 25 of the show’s celebrity guest stars at the Regal Princess naming ceremony. While cruising around the Caribbean aboard this innovative, state-of-the-art ship, we were able to interview Gavin Macleod, Captain Stubbing himself, in his stateroom. He is truly one of the kindest and most inspirational people we’ve had the pleasure to meet in our travels. In this interview we discuss his life, the Love Boat, his bucket list and much more!
In today's show we'll be sharing our tips for traveling to a major sporting event. We share our tips for where to stay, when to book, where to buy tickets, when to arrive, where to eat, how to stay out of jail, and even when to use the restroom. We will also discuss our favorite smartphone apps for travel AND we will be joined by Jess Skelton, Social Media and Content Manager for Tripit - our favorite app for organizing our itineraries.
In honor of Jim Beam’s 150th birthday, wei took a trip to Clermont, Kentucky to tour the place where bourbon is born. We visited the Jim Beam distillery and warehouses and got an up close look - and taste - of the bourbon making process.
One of the highlights of the trip was meeting and interviewing Jim Beam Noe - great grandson of Jim Beam. For today’s show we thought we’d play that interview for you. The Stillhouse was a little noisy and our audio quality is rough at times, but if you pour yourself a tall glass of bourbon, plop yourself down in a rocking chair, and give it a listen, you’re going to want to hit the Bourbon Trail and pay tribute to Jim Beam yourself. Cheers!
Here's a link to some more pictures from our visit to Louisville and the distillery in Clermont.
While in Las Vegas for the 2014 Destination Marketing Assiciation International Convention (#DMAI14) we met up with a virtual who's who of the world's foremost travel influencers on The Linq's High Roller - the world's largest observation wheel.
Wile podcasting from a pod, Rick Griffin spoke with travel celebrities Matt Villano, Captain and Clark, Kate Thomas, and Spencer Spellman about Las Vegas, DMAI, honeymoons, the Pleasure Pit, and travel. Ever cautious of heights, Sandi McKenna remained on the ground to notify next-of-kin should anything go wrong:)
Ever wonder what happens "Behind the Scenes"? Today we're talking with Dan Rogers and Brenda Colladay who will tell us just that.
Dan Rogers has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry staff since 1998. Serving as Director of Marketing and Communication, he shares the Opry’s rich stories via print, digital, and broadcast media. His first trip backstage at the Opry was during a family vacation when he was in kindergarten, and his personal favorite Opry backstage memories are watching Loretta Lynn prepare to take the stage, introducing radio and television personality Charles Osgood to the backstage goings-on at the Opry, and eavesdropping on Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis during their photo shoot for BACKSTAGE at the Grand Ole Opry. His other Opry title is Tune Town Trivia: The Grand Ole Opry's Ultimate Country Music Quiz Book.
Brenda Colladay joined the Grand Ole Opry as its very first Museum and Photograph Curator in 1997, charged with collecting, organizing, caring for, and sharing the costumes, instruments, photographs, and memorabilia that illustrate the Opry’s colorful story and cast of unforgettable characters. She often jokes that her job is “eighty-plus years of history versus me,” but enjoys creating museum exhibits for the Grand Ole Opry and historic Ryman Auditorium, assisting researchers, filmmakers, and authors, and discovering “new” stories about the Opry’s past. Colladay previously served as photo editor for the book, The Grand Ole Opry: The Making of an American Icon.
In this episode we speak with the one and only Danica Patrick, the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel racing. Danica is one of the most searched athletes on all of Google. She has hosted the Country Music Awards, been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, been featured in numerous iconic Super Bowl commercials for GoDaddy.com and is currently a celebrity spokesperson for Can-Am Spyder. Her love of food and travel make her the ideal celebrity to talk about road trips!
Can-Am Spyder is running a promotion with Danica Patrick on Facebook where one lucky fan will win a Can-Am Spyder of their own and another will get to Ride With Danica! You can enter online or visit a local dealer to enter: however, I want to discourage your from entering as it will improve my odds of winning:)

Her broadcast work has included appearances on Extra!, HLN, major market newscasts and countless radio shows.
