"According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the total number of people with DEMENTIA worldwide in 2015 is estimated at 47.5 million. The total number of new cases of dementia each year worldwide is nearly 7.7 million, implying 1 new case every 4 seconds. The number of people with dementia is expected to increase to 75.6 million in 2030 and 135.5 million in 2050". Think about it. These are BIG numbers and most of us, in one way or another, will be impacted by dementia in our lifetime.
To help us to help us understand what these numbers mean to us and our loves ones on a community level, we have invited CATHERINE SHEPHERD, Cape Breton - Education and Outreach, Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, to the table.
I first met Catherine about two months ago when my family was trying to deal with a loved one’s diagnosis of dementia. Quite honestly, we were afraid and looking for guidance and support. From the get go, Catherine stepped into the fire, met us where we were, and offered step-by-step guidance, knowledge and reassurance at a time when all three were in short supply. I was very touched by this timely gift (for she was a gift!) and decided to dedicate this show to helping her share a message of hope, coping and perspective for those on a life altering journey called "dementia". Thank you Catherine for doing this beautiful work!

Scheduled with the author, Jack Ross, of "The Socialist Party of America: A Complete History."
Based on archival research, Jack Ross’s study challenges the orthodoxies of both sides of the historiographical debate as well as assumptions about the Socialist Party in historical memory. Ross similarly covers the related emergence of neoconservatism and other facets of contemporary American politics and assesses some of the more sensational charges from the right about contemporary liberalism and the “radicalism” of Barack Obama.
“Jack Ross has performed a prodigious and provocative feat of recovery and historical interpretation. In Ross’s telling, the Socialist Party of America is not just a dreary dress rehearsal for Cold War liberalism or neoconservatism but rather, at its best, a living, breathing embodiment of populist American radicalism.”—Bill Kauffman, author of Ain’t My America: The Long, Noble History of Antiwar Conservatism and Middle-American Anti-Imperialism
“Not only does Jack Ross cover the history of the [Socialist Party of America] and its leading adherents, he also offers an analysis of socialism’s rise, decline, and persistence as a marginal movement in the United States that is more complete and original than that of any other scholars of the political left. . . . This history deserves the attention and respect of every reader.”—Melvyn Dubofsky, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of history and sociology at Binghamton University, SUNY, and coauthor of John L. Lewis: A Biography

WENDY LYNN SNIDER
Country artist Wendy Lynn Snider was born & raised in the beautiful surroundings of Temagami, Ontario. She grew up in a musical family listening to Christian and classic Country performed by artists like Waylon Jennings, Johnny & June Carter Cash, and Patsy Cline. As she grew up, through all the twists and turns life brings, she kept singing and songwriting and sharing her gift. In 2010, she re-connected with high school friend and long-time music industry person Michael Peters. He encouraged her to record another CD and brought in popular Country artist Thomas Wade to produce the album. When I first met Lynn Littlejohn, it was after Rev Eddie Long was going through his ordeal (I'm not going to say it here, however if you're interested, google or bing it. I thought she was his X wife, however she wasn't. She was somebody else's ex wife. She was on YOUTUBE. You have to check out her channel, she has over a million views to her channel and more. She has written a couple of books. pastorsexwife.org tells the story.
If you want the true, this is where you get it. She is open and honest - she's lived a spicy life and she is willing to share it. If you don't like the truth but are willing to sneak and get it, COME 'ROUND HERE (Smokey Robinson) She tells it like it is, and she doesn't bite her tongue. This is the way religion should be. If you were to hear her show over and over (like if she only did one) you would get something valuable each time you listen, because PASTORSEXWIFE/LYNN LITTLEJOHN is like a hit record.
