Assisted Suicide, Euthanasia and Mercy Killing

    in Entertainment

IS there a Time To Kill A Suffering Mockingbird? The Question of Euthanasia???

In a day when lives are being prolonged by medical miracles and pharmacological feats, the Euthanasia discussion continues to swirl.

How sick do you have to be to want to die? How long would you be suffering before you would want to end it all? Is Euthanasia an option for freedom from suffering or is it a sinister solution that leads to a slippery slope of devaluating life?

Who says maintaining a suffering loved one alive is a better choice than mercifully “letting the go”? Who should have the right to “Play God” with a human life?

Is religion right to oppose this “murdering”? Some of us might never want to die but others of us just might be ready to die. SO what are we to do?

Join Jim and Angellah for a completely scintillating discussion about Euthanasia. Is Passive E better then Active E? What about endorsing Doctor assisted suicide? Is it ever merciful to end a life and call it Mercy Killing? Would the Bible endorse or condemn such a choice?

Get in on this wildly debated topic that has rung through the halls of debating ethics and morals for hundreds of years. You know what’s right. Call in to the show to let us all know.

See you Saturday at 12PM Noon.

The Legal Show Mercy Killing or Murder for Convenience? Part 2

    in Legal

Attorney Sarah Steele and writer Bennet Pomerantz discuss the subjects of the day.

The audience should know that although Ms. Steele is a licensed attorney, she is not offering legal advice in any capacity, is not establishing an attorney/client relationship with anyone listening to the show, and recommends that any listener of the show consult a local attorney for any legal advice they may require.

This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.

Continuing from last week, the hosts conclude their two part series on the controversial topic of mercy killings.  Tonight the hosts ask “sometimes isn’t a cigar just a cigar?” when they look at the case of Barbara Mancini.  Ms. Mancini, 57, of Philadelphia, was charged last summer with giving a nearly full bottle of morphine to her father, Joseph Yourshaw, at his Pottsville home in February 2013 for the purpose of helping him end his life. Yourshaw died at a hospital four days later after a hospice nurse called 911. The judge said that prosecutors had neither established that Yourshaw intended to take his own life, nor that Mancini helped him do it.  Join Bennet and Sarah as they conclude their series on so-called “mercy killings” and how they relate to the law.

This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.

Tonight we discuss the topic of mercy killings in this, our first, two part series. Jurors began deliberations in October in the trial of Gigi Jordan, the former Manhattan health-care executive who was accused of killing her 8-year-old autistic son.  Ms. Jordan was charged with killing her son with a cocktail of drugs in February 2010 and has never denied ending her son’s life. Her testimony offered a complex tale involving death threats from her former husband and claims that Jude communicated to her that he was being sexually abused and tortured by his biological father. On Wednesday, November 5th, during its fifth day of deliberations, a Manhattan jury accepted Ms. Jordan’s claims and found her guilty of manslaughter, rejecting the prosecution’s call for a murder conviction. Join Bennet and Sarah as they discuss the sensitive and controversial topic of “mercy killings” and how they relate to the law.

    The Nature of God: Mercy

    in Christianity

Church has become so much about how God wants to meet the "felt needs" of the congregants that often the nature of God Himself is not adequately explored.   This leads to a warped view of God as some sort of ATM in the sky who will dispense what you want or need if only you know the right buttons to press.   But God is not an ATM, He is a person and it is the human personality which is only a tainted image of His own.   In this podcast, we explore who God is by exploring His Divine personality, in this case His Mercy.
