Tonight we have the opportunity of going to London UK, and exploring the world of Carl Foster. Not being able to read or write until he was seven, he refused to allow his disability to hold him back. Faced with many difficult challenges, he continued to strive towards his goals. Going to drama school in London, being a part of the BBC television series Grange Hill, to taking judo; he realized he could do anything he put his mind to. The author of Self Made is hanging out in the studio w/ the Queen, to teach the world how to become Self Made.
"Don't live your life by fear of failure, live your life by the thought of winning." Carl Foster
Every speech about Black issues ends up in talk about crime, prison talk, education, missing fathers, you need to vote. These problems come from slavery and the foundation of institutional racism which is an orchrestrated substitute for slavery. All challenges in Black communities are not about crime, and criminal records. When a father cannot get hired because his name is Jamal, his family is left without necessities. With time family situations are changed temporarily if not permanently. Institutional racism is the White rebellion to freed slaves. Wealthy White men legalized a new slavery, institutional racism. Via policing, politicians controlled freed Blacks. With merchants wanting free labor, BlackCode laws enabled the imprisonment of freed Blacks to be used for free labor. Black prisoners provided free labor after slavery and free labor today. When Blacks are not hired today, Whites say Blacks can't do the jobs. When Blacks are not able to operate successful businesses today, Whites doesn't admit they refuse to buy Black, they say they can't find Black businesses to supply their needs for goods and services

We have spent a lot of time on communication and how the most important person to learn to communicate with is yourself. Yes, you need to be brutally honest with yourself, and that does not mean that you should beat yourself up. It means when you are thinking about an invitation to participate, whether it is directly about you or one of your family or friends, you must talk to yourself like you do when you are sharing secrets about you to that special person that you can share anything with. When it comes to those deep secrets, it should really be you first, then share with others. Today we'll talk about not only the value of communicating truthfully, but what kind of things might get in the way of doing so...
are there words that might trigger discomfort?
do 'titles' intimidate us?
how does our judgement or opinion get in the way of seeing the truth?
does the way we feel give us clues?
Bring your questions to the conversation with Delrae and Mary K from the Life Learning Center of Self and let's bring you into an honest relationship with SELF!
We are here to experience emotions in all forms. Challenges crop up for us to do that. We do get the choice of embracing the challenge or avoiding the challenge and hope it goes away or expecting someone else to deal with it. Our expectations of how our life "should" be or how situations have to happen can create even more challenges in our lives. Lets look at some of the beliefs you may have about your life and how to handle the curve balls that challenge those beliefs. Lets look at the energy of grace and how to use that to deal with your personal challenges. we will explore the the spiritual energy of a challenge and tools to work through them effectively.

Just a quick review of last week's show.
The Teaching Temple is here. Ever wonder why there are so many unchurched people in America, particularly among 18-29 year olds? The reason seems to be that people are disillusioned with what churches are teaching. Yet when Jesus walked the earth the multides followed him wherever he went -- they hung on his every word. They said "never a man spoke like this man -- he speaks with authority". It was the content of his message. It was what he was saying that made the difference. No blue smoke and mirrors, No horse and pony shows. No thousand voice choirs. It was his teaching. Is it any wonder that he admonished is disciples that if they were truly his disciples they must hold to his teaching. Not him but his teaching. Now suppose that what is being taught is not his teaching? Might this explain why the Kingdom of God has not become a reality? Is it any wonder that the foundation of his teaching was that you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free? Do you have the courage to learn what he actually taught? And if you do, do you have the courage to implement those teachings? Each day the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Each day the prisons are being filled with more and more of our young people -- and the beat goes on! The Gospel of the Kingdom of God was intended for the poor, the downtrodden, the outcasts. Jesus didn't come to start a religion -- he already had a religion -- he came to start a revolution! Join us for lively discussion of what Jesus taught -- Join us at the Teaching Temple. Sundays at 7:00 pm est. Join the Jesus Movement!
