MEAGHAN BLANCHARD, a vibrant red-headed singer-songwriter, grew up in the rolling hills of beautiful Prince Edward Island. Although a shy and quiet child, Meaghan gravitated towards music with a natural ability to write & hum her own tunes at a very young age. As she grew up, Meaghan’s natural vocal ability had her front and center of a number of community gatherings, children’s choirs and kitchen parties in her home town of Hunter River. Although Meaghan’s shyness followed her throughout her school years, she found comfort in logging away her hopes and dreams in small journals that she kept tucked into her desks. Tired of letting her shyness get in the way of her musical dreams, Meaghan turned to her grandmother Glenda - a Country singer who performed most weekends in the rural halls of PEI - for advice. Grammy Glenda’s words still have meaning to her to this day: “Look for the person in the audience who is looking like they’re having a bad day and sing to them; make em’ smile. It’ll take your fear away, and you never know what that could mean to somebody”. It was by watching her grandmother’s performances that Meaghan also came to know and love some of the greatest female country singers of all time: Tammy Wynette, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton. They have all had a significant influence on her music even to this day. Meaghan recorded her first full length collection of songs with producer John Keane (R.E.M., Nancy Griffith, B52′s) in Athens, Georgia. The album She’s Gonna Fly was released in July 2013.
The Fairbanks House in Dedham, Massachusetts, built c. 1637 is the oldest timber-frame house in America. It is unique for being owned and lived-in by 8 generations of the Fairbanks family. No other family ever lived in this house. But this house is not just the best preserved 17th century home, it also demonstrates the changes that have occurred in New England and American history over 372 years.
On Thursday, September 13, 2012 Marian Pierre-Louis will speak with Fairbanks House curator, Meaghan Siekham. Meaghan will explore many topics that bring the history of the Fairbanks House alive including the mysteries of the house, Puritan Superstitions, the lives of women at the house and much more.
Tune in live to be eligible to win one of two copies of the book The Fairbanks House by Abbott Lowell Cummings generously donated by the New England Historic Genealogical Society. We'll also be giving out two pairs of tickets to tour the Fairbanks House.

Who came out victorious in the steel cage rubber match between Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt, and did they finally hit upon the formula to deliver the match we've been anticipating for the last two months? Was Roman Reigns able to overcome both The Authority and The Viper in his SummerSlam rematch against Randy Orton? Who did John Cena squash this week in an effort to make him look like he isn't going to be murderkilled against Brock at Night of Champions? Most importantly, was Jerry Springer able to heal the wounds of the feuding Bella Twins?
All of that and more will be discussed as we break down what looks, on paper, to be a pretty stacked episode of Monday Night Raw. You don't want to miss this one as you never know just what, exactly, will be said.
