"The Secret Alchemy of Food" with Meadow Linn

    in Spirituality

Join Host Pamela Marie Edmunds and Meadow Linn, Author of "The Mystic Cookbook."  Learn about the secrets found in food.
Meadow Linn–-noted speaker, writer, and chef---is the daughter of Denise Linn, world-renowned healer, teacher and author of 16 bestselling books. When she was 18 years old, Meadow, a self-taught chef and lover of all things edible, started catering her mother’s retreats, which she’s been doing ever since. That has lead to an extraordinary collaboration with her mother on a brand new book The Mystic Cookbook: The Secret Alchemy of Food. Filled with luscious recipes, imaginative meals and magical wisdom, they open a portal for you to embark on the sacred journey from nourishment to nirvana—and to harness the hidden dimension of food.
It was while cooking for her mother’s retreats during her summer vacations that Meadow saw the powerful connection between not just what we eat, but also how we eat and how we feel. Eating well brings balance and harmony to mind, body, and spirit. Meadow believes good food should be a celebration of life. Having watched countless people transform their lives simply by making mealtimes fun and delicious, she made a choice. A French teacher with a Masters Degree in French Cultural Studies from Columbia University, she gave up her eight-year teaching career to devote herself to helping others savor their lives more fully. Blending her academic background with her spiritual upbringing, she makes eating and living well become something that seems easily attainable, tasty, and fun.
Meadow also writes a blog called Savor The Day, which is about life, love, and good food. With her mother, she’s the co-author of Quest: A Guide for Creating Your Own Vision Quest, as well as The Mystic Cookbook. Her articles appear frequently in The Seattle Chinese Times and she’s a contributing writer to In Spirit

Deanna Spingola - Eisenhower's WWII Rhine Meadow Death Camps

    in Education

Tonight Deanna Spingola returns to the show.

With this show Deanna will walk us through a piece of WWII history that has been erased from the history books. The main stream narrative of the second World War majors exclusively on the Holocaust but never talks about Dwight Eisenhower’s Rhine Meadow Death Camps which claimed the lives of an estimated 1.5 million Germans. The running and condition of these enslavement camps was so deplorable that it is virtually incomprehensible to believe anyone, let alone a US general and later a US president, would have treated people in a way that can only be described as evil.

For many, much of what you will hear in this show will be a surprise and perhaps even shocking. I encourage everyone to listen with an open mind and as you do remember the words of Winston Churchill; “History is written by the victors.”

Get Healthy Now, Denise Thomson, How To Start Forgiving?

    in Health

    Recap of last few weeks:

Forgiveness in the Faith based field

Forgiveness in the Criminal Justice field

    Forgiveness in the Medical field

    Forgiveness from the Scientific standpoint

Today's topic: How To Start Forgiving?

    Keep Calm and Let Go

"The past has no power over the present moment." - Eckhart Tolle

    Stop trying and start being.

    Stop trying for a while.

Be in charge of your thoughts and emotions (Be the watcher of your thoughts)

By not judging your thoughts or blaming them on anyone else, and merely watching them, there will be a big shift within you - your sense of self worth.

Love yourself for who you are and where you are in your life right now, right here.

Learn to replace anger, hurt, frustration, vengeance into present love.

The bottom line is that the best revenge is happiness, because nothing drives your adversaries more insane than seeing a fresh smile on your face. (Read Buddha's Brain.)

Let go of the need to firgive every mistake.

Mistakes are the growing pains of wisdom. Most of the time they just need to be accepted, not forgiven.

Feel how your body shifts from feeling hurt and upset to peaceful and loving. (does not mean forgiveness, just realizing where you are)

Don't hold on to false beliefs, let go of what you cannot change. Live the best you can be and do day by day --> no need to forgive.and no regrets.

So, How do we start forgiving? Step by step, letting go of what cannot be changed, turning anger, revenge, hurt into love and enjyoing it.
