15 minute show.
There's plenty to talk about regarding this loss from the Titans. Everything I feared about Tennessee came true today. The corners outside of Jason McCourty are lackluster at best, the run defense was atrocious, and the offense was abysmal for the first 30 minutes of the game. After a 26-10 win over Kansas City, the same score-line gets thrown right back at Tennessee here.
Up next for the Titans is a road visit to Cincinnati, then another road trip to Indianapolis. Whoopee!
In a game that I think could have huge playoff implications, the Titans' defense stepped up in a major way along with the signing of kicker Ryan Succop. Jason McCourty was the one cornerback I had no questions about coming into the season, and he made my feelings justified with his play today. McCourty had two interceptions on the day as well as a hit that caused a third thrown by Alex Smith. Jake Locker also had a solid day in general outside of taking a few more sacks than I'd like to see. I'll break down the game with the Red Light Sports Network's Chiefs show host, Ben Holzhueter.
After the game tonight I'll go through everything regarding the week one preseason game for the Titans against the Packers. Who performed well and who performed poorly? I'm curious to see how much time Bishop Sankey gets at running back as well as how Justin Hunter looks in general. On defense, that's where things will get most interesting. By switching from the 4-3 to 3-4 scheme, almost every player is switching positions in one way or another. How did the defensive line and linebacker core look? And who can we expect to see be the No. 2 cornerback opposite Jason McCourty?
