They make us laugh, by the funny things they say and the funny things they do. Comedians paint a picture of their lives as it relates to their environment and makes it relevant to us. So naturally, we expect to see them in stand-up comedy spots, specials, sitcoms, and comedic roles in movies. Yet a select few have made the transition over to the "other" side of the room, and delved into dramatic films. Tonight, our conversation is focused on three such professionals: Jackie Gleason, Mo'nique and Jamie Foxx.

Works of art are made to be judged, correct? They are creative creations created by a thoughtful creator in order to be judged. Do we judge too hard? Do we not judge enough? Should the creator or artist be held more accountable for the integrity, quality and benefit of their product, or should they be let off the hook more often?
This week, we jump into one huge aspect of that concept when we discuss Christian singers, rappers, and comedians, and whether they operate by the same code and rules as everyone else !
As my four year Anniversary in Stand-Up approaches, it's time for a vulnerable and transparent episode into one of the topics I've always struggled with the most. HELP ME !

The Mature Minor Doctrine is a common law doctrine created in most states through judicial rulings. The doctrine accepts that an unemancipated minor may possess the maturity to choose or reject a particular health care treatment. Illinois’ version of the doctrine was created by the 1989 Supreme Court of Illinois decision, In re E.G. Most recently, the Doctrine was discussed in a Connecticut Supreme Court case where the court unanimously ruled that a 17 year old girl can be forced to undergo cancer treatments against her will. Ephesians 5:22-28 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
22 Wives, place yourselves under your husbands’ authority as you have placed yourselves under the Lord’s authority. [a] 23 The husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. It is his body, and he is its Savior. 24 As the church is under Christ’s authority, so wives are under their husbands’ authority in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it.26 He did this to make the church holy by cleansing it, washing it using water along with spoken words. 27 Then he could present it to himself as a glorious church, without any kind of stain or wrinkle—holy and without faults. 28 So husbands must love their wives as they love their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself.

This week all the traditional mainstream media descended on Baltimore. There was acomment by protester Danielle Williams to MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts that exposed the dereliction of duty by the traditional mainstream media. She said the following.
“My question to you is, when we were out here protesting all last week for six days straight peacefully, there were no news cameras, there were no helicopters, there was no riot gear, and nobody heard us,” Danielle Williams said. “So now that we’ve burned down buildings and set businesses on fire and looted buildings, now all of the sudden everybody wants to hear us. Why does it take a catastrophe like this in order for America to hear our cry?” she continued. “I mean, enough is enough. We’ve had too many lives lost at the hands of police officers. Enough is enough.”
There is much within that statement.
What do you think. Let’s talk about it.
