Budding R&B star Marvin Ambrosius knows the value of working with legends—and relatives. “I’m very proud of Friends and Lovers,” he tells Fresh Perspectives Radio host Nikki Rich of sister Marsha Ambrosius’ new album. “The song we did together, Spend All My Time, was originally a love song but it turned into a family song about my loved ones—my auntie and nan. Then Charlie Wilson got onboard, and now it’s got that billionaire feeling,” he adds of The Gap Band frontman. You listen to it and it’s like, This is why we do music. I never thought I’d have my name next to Charlie in a credit. But now I made a bet with Marsha. I said, If you get a Grammy—and this album is gonna win; you can’t be nominated 13 times and not win on your next one—I told her we’ll be there with Charlie goin’ thank you! Because he’s gonna be the reason we got it.”

The Nikki Rich Show talks with Sean Hicks of Va, Marvin and surprise call in from Marsha Ambrosius. If the surname sounds familiar it’s because he is the little brother of Marsha Ambrosius, of Floetry fame and now a Grammy award winning solo artist.Marvin, a success in his own right, has previously co-written tracks for Artist Angie Stone, Nas and the Game. He is tarting his own music career under the name Ambrosious. We’d describe his sound as a fusion of British urban, neo soul and grown and sexy RnB.Marsha Ambrosius or Marsha is an English singer-songwriter. A former member of Floetry, she released her first solo album Late Nights & Early Mornings on 1 March 2011.
Already proven as a talented, sought after songwriter and revered platinum-selling artist, Marsha Ambrosius is meeting the next challenge in her already impressive musical career by reinventing herself as a solo artist with her J Records debut disc LATE NIGHTS & EARLY MORNINGS.
Hailing from Liverpool, England, fans first got a taste of Marsha’s talent as the singing half of the duo Floetry. Their 2000 debut Floeticproduced signature singles like “Say Yes" and "Getting Late" as well as four Grammy nods. Following the 2005 release of their second studio album, Flo’Ology, the ladies veered creatively and personally. While the split was difficult, Marsha continued to build a name for herself as a songwriter and producer, creating “Butterflies” for the late Michael Jackson and other hits for artists such as Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Jamie Foxx and Nas. She’s been nominated for a total of six Grammys and has been honored by BMI as their Songwriter of the Year.
