Dr. Michael S. Atkins is a marine biologist and a biological oceanographer, and has been involved in ocean sciences for nearly 30 years. His career has taken him into marine, terrestrial, and even extraterrestrial (simulated anyway) ecosystems to look at a wide diversity of living organisms that make a living doing some very extraordinary things.
Dr. Atkins has been fortunate enough to work as an ocean scientist all over the world and even at the bottom of the ocean in deep submersible vehicles. He has worked and consulted on National Science Foundation Life in Extreme Environments and NASA Astrobiology Institute projects to detect life throughout the universe using the ocean bottom as a model.
From 2000 to the present Dr. Atkins has been involved with education and public outreach projects around the world regarding marine sciences. He was a microbiologist in a segment of the National Geographic documentary "Sustainable Seas", and served as a scientific consultant and deep-submersible diver in the film "Aliens of the Deep", by director James Cameron and Disney Pictures, among many other EPO projects both on land and the oceans.

This issue has been danced around before, but now we have to get to brass tacks. MONITOR MOSQUES OR NOT? What will be the ramifications be if we continue to treat this political party, islam, as a protected species? (Oh, maybe another 7/7? 9/11? Boston Bombing? Lee Rigby? ISIS atrocities?)

"All That is necessary for Evil to Prevail Is that good men do nothing" ~ Edmond Burke
Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project was delighted to learn recently that after years of international pressure, the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) had finally suspended JAZA as a member of its organization. We are ecstatic to announce that further to WAZA’s move, the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums has decided to finally stop sourcing dolphins from the inhumane hunts in Taiji.
On April 22 this year, the 46th World Earth Day, the screen on the Beijing Book Building multi-purpose hall was playing some shocking images: A few fishermen were dragging some dolphins onto a boat, and a dolphin was leaping for the last time in the blood-red cove… This was immediately followed by the launch of the book The Cove (Dolphin Bay) by Zhonghua Book Company in Beijing.
Mark your calendars and call in to speak with Ric O'Barry.
Anne Graham Lotz opens today’s program with an urgent “Mayday” warning of impending disaster striking America. In Part 2, longtime Washington-insider Richard Fisher talks with Rick about the dangerous showdown that is brewing in the South China Sea between the PLA Navy and the U.S. Navy.
