MOBILIZING AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE WITH MARGARET KLEIN SALAMON

    in Politics

With average global temperatures continuing to set records almost annually, more Americans are admitting the reality of climate change, but are they admitting how serious it is and how quickly we need to act? Denial comes in many forms, and each of them requires a unique approach. To understand how to break through the denial of people who admit that global climate change exists but who want to believe there are good reasons to do nothing about it, we need to call in a psychotherapist.

In this episode, we talk to Margaret Klein Salamon, clinical psychologist who writes at The Climate Psychologist and who founded and is Director of TheClimateMobilization. The topic is how do we get people to understand the urgency of mobilizing to fight climate change and how to organize and use the Pledge to Mobilize campaign to compel Congress to act.

This show will be rebroadcast on March 28 at 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST on the Star Com Radio Network.

Take Back America for the People is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to explain the true costs of corporate control of the US government.

Faith Beyond Belief with Author Dr. Margaret Placentra Johnston

    in Self Help

“When winning becomes too important, it blurs concern for the way our actions affect others; it necessarily sets up someone on the opposing side who must “lose.” The win/??lose mentality prominent in our society is a symptom of a much larger problem—a spiritual problem, in fact.” - Dr. Margaret Placentra Johnston

After practicing Optometry for over three decades - helping people to see better in the physical world - Dr. Margaret Placentra Johnston now offers clearer vision of a different sort - a broader perspective about religion and spirituality than what the conventional world typically recognizes.

The author of Faith Beyond Belief: Stories of Good People Who Left Their Church Behind, Dr. Johnston feels the spiritual development stages have the power to bring an end to religious intolerance and should be part of the general knowledge of our culture.  Faith Beyond Belief has won a number of awards including being named the Gold Winner of the 2013 Nautilus Book Award in Religion/Spirituality.  Visit www.FaithBeyondBelief-book.com.  Watch the book trailer.
