Books of Excellence Mike Mullins and Marc Yablonka

    in Books

Bonnie Kaye and her co-host Marc Yablonka welcome back author Michael D. Mullins, a native Hoosier with roots in the mountains of Southwest Virginia.  After serving our country in Vietnam, he attended a small college in that region and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree.  He married while in college, returned to Indiana, and started a family.  He and his wife are the parents of two sons and five grandchildren.  He completed a second undergraduate degree while working full time for a steel producer.

Mullins has served his community in a variety of service organizations.  He was also a member of a local school board of trustees for sixteen years and established a local scholarship committee.  He is a member in good standing with Military Writers Society of America.

Tonight we will discuss Mike's books that pay tribute to Vietnam and servicemen including Vietnam in Verse, Kings of the Green Jelly Moon, Out of the Midst, and Pass the Salt Doc.

This show is a program for independent authors. It was created for the authors in the Books of Excellence Coop found at www.BooksofExcellence.com; however the show welcomes independent authors and entertainers as time permits

    Project Empowerment - Marc Bekoff

    in Self Help

Project Empowerment is honored to have on author and Professor Marc Bekoff.  He is professor emeritus of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder.  He has worked alongside leading writers and activists including Jane Goodall, Peter Singer, and PETA cofounder Ingrid Newkirk.

We’ll be discussing his new book Rewilding Our Hearts: Building Pathways of Compassion and Coexistence.

In wildlife conservation work, rewilding refers to habitat restoration and the creation of corridors between preserved lands to allow declining populations to rebound.  Marc Bekoff, one of the world’s most engaging animal experts and activists, here applies rewilding to human attitudes.  He argues that unless we rewild ourselves, becoming profoundly reconnected to nature and fundamentally shifting our consciousness, our conversation efforts will have but limited impact.

Please join us as we’ll be discussing this a so much more.  You can learn more about his work at www.literati.net/authors/marc-bekoff

Natural Born Coaches with Marc Mawhinney

After many years as an entrepreneur, Marc jumped into the coaching business (for small business owners). He created the programs that he would use with his clients, established systems, printed his business cards, launched his website, blog and social media, and waited for clients to start beating down his door.

    They didn’t!

So he started prospecting harder every day. By reaching out to people in his target market, he got consultations and some clients (but too many that he was working with at discounted rates, or even worse, for free!). It was a frustrating situation.

Every day Marc talked with coaches from all over North America, and eventually around the world.  And he learned insights and strategies that he was able to implement in his coaching business.
