How often does friend advice work for you? Do you like getting friend advice? We're talking about the kind of advice you offer, rather than what your friend asks for.
Often friend advice can be confusing, especially if you don't really trust your friend. Often you may confuse what you consider as advice with your opinions - what they “should” do. When a friend hears “should” it often shuts down their capacity to hear you. It's a brain thing.
This’s what we’re tackling in today's show. The balance between when a friend gives you great insights and when a friend brings you down.
CALL - 347-324-3200 and join in the conversation!!
In Friend Advice: Good, Bad, Ugly, there’s a section on how to figure out if your advice comes from your heart or ego. We'll discuss this too!
Ego – what you think they should do.
We investigate tips so that you can hear your friend and what they need from you to move forward.
Communication is vital in your friendships and what you often need is as simple as comfort, understanding and love.

But not when it comes to money or business. Never borrow money from a friend or go into business with a friend. This will cause the friendship to suffer or put an end to the friendship. The Coffee Club hosts, Felix and Dr. Marc, want to discuss this with our audience and get their feel on this question. As far as we are concerned that's a no brainer and a quick remedy for losing your friends. So join us with your cup of coffee in hand and we'll discuss friendship along with politics, news, and religion. If you are up to calling us the number 646-595-3275, we'd love to hear from you.
Karen Romano Young was frequently wet during her early years. Despite not actually having webbed feet, she spent much of her nonschool time up to her knees in the Atlantic, Long Island Sound, or the Mill River in her hometown of Fairfield, Connecticut. Although Karen had little formal science education before high school, she learned on her feet, and has continued to do so through a career that includes scientific research expeditions, writing, and illustrating.
Karen has dived to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean in a tiny submarine, crunched through Arctic ice in an icebreaker, and visited labs, museum workshops, and research institutions across the U.S. in order to write and draw about science -- especially ocean science. She is the author of nearly 30 books for children, has illustrated several of these, and is the creator of Humanimal Doodles, a science comic for kids. Her fiction work includes the award-winning novel The Beetle and Me and the celebrated graphic novel Doodlebug.
Karen’s recent work includes Humanimal Doodle-style picture books for Harper Big Cat, such as Watching Whales, and Stuck in the Middle (Of Middle School), a sequel to Doodlebug. Right now she’s working on the photo shoot of a new National Geographic.
Somebody need to speak on it. Do you have friend that is only a friend when they are in need, but when you need them, they have nothing but excuses? Are you a better friend to your friend than your friend is a friend to you? How do you break it to your friend that you just ain't taking it no more? And, can talking to them showing them how insensitive they have been to your need change their ways?
