ABOUT Twila Adams:
Providing Mobile Nail Care services since 1991
Licensed Onyxologist and Instructor since 1993
Certified Reiki Practitioner since 2005
As a child I enjoyed learning about finger nails and toe nails. The interest continued through two years of college and eleven years in the US Army. By 1991 I returned from the U.S. Army. I remember a good friend from high school asking me to give her a manicure. Shortly thereafter I enrolled and completed Manicuring school, passing state exams. Later I completed all required training and state exams to become a Licensed Manicuring Teacher.
Along my journey, in 1994 I broke my neck in an auto accident. Paralyzed only able to only move my mouth and eyes. But that has not stopped me from living. As the owner of Holistic Nail Care Services I still enjoy providing nail care for those who I believe so often go unserved.
Since my accident I have competed in many activities. Miss North Carolina Wheelchair Pageant in March 2003. The pageant is designed to help contestants and winners become advocates for people with disabilities.
Avid trap shooter and in 2002 was the first woman ever to win the Sportsmanship Award at the Paralyzed Veterans of America National Trap Shoot Competition.
SPVA board member 2008-2010.
Participant in the National Paralyzed Veterans of America Wheelchair Games competing in nine-ball player, trap shooting, air rifles, bowling, table tennis and has won medals in all of her events.
Currently, I am working on my tennis game, air rifle competitions and competing in the Senior Games.
