Author,Wellness Entrepreneur James M. McLester stops by Good Deeds w/Dr. Sunday

    in Motivation

James Michael McLester is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant. To know James is to know he loves music.  He attended his first rock concert at Tarrant County Convention Center in 1978 at age eleven in Ft. Worth, TX. From that point forward, he knew that is what he was born to do and so he set out to follow his dream to become a

rock star.  Those were some turbulent days but, through the grace of God, James has reconciled with his family, long-term girlfriend and is a professional drummer/musician with his Christian band SuperNova Remnant, Temple of BOOM with DJ Drue Mitchell of JUCE TV,

Manafest, and the worship team at Crossroads Tabernacle Church. However, when James was in his early thirties, he had a near-death experience soon after being diagnosed with end-stage renal disease.  It was due to mercury toxicity leaching from the many silver fillings drilled into his teeth at a young age.  Fortunately, James has been placed on the list for a kidney transplant at the Texas Transplant Institute in San Antonio.  Though lifesaving, transplantation is enormously expensive.  A campaign has been established in James’ honor with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. If you are able and would like to help, please consider making a contribution by calling 800.642.8399 or visit helphopelive.org and search for James

    3Union Fancalls

    in Entertainment

3union is a pop/rock band of brothers who love performing and playing their music for any audience. They are passionate about influencing their generation, and challenging them to make a difference. Working closely with Cru High School and Keynote (divisions of the international mission organization, Cru, based in Orlando), this young band was formed in 2008 and has performed at youth conferences, retreats, schools, festivals, and numerous other venues both nationally and internationally.

Their first CD, “Say It Now,” was produced by John David Webster and released in July of 2009. As the band’s style became more electro, they started work in 2011 on a 5 song EP, co-produced by Michael Linney (who has worked with artists such as Jason Derulo and Toby Mac), and multi-platinum producer ill factor (who has worked with artists including Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin, and Natasha Bedinfield). Titled, "Our Mom Thinks We're Good," the new EP released in December of 2011.

Recent highlights have included appearances at summer festivals sharing the stage with Group One Crew, Manafest, Hawk Nelson and Tenth Avenue North; opening for Jeremy Camp; and appearing on the 2011 "eXtreme Tour" as well as the Van's Warped Tour where they were winners in the Ernie Ball Stage "Battle of the Bands." They played on the 2012 "Camplified" tour sponsored by Cartoon Network, opened for Keith Urban and ‘American Idol’ champ, Kris Allen, and performed an exclusive side-stage appearance for the Jonas Brothers during their 2013 tour appearance on Long Island. The band has done several international tours, including dates in Germany, Turkey, and Lebanon, and played a 2-week series of concerts in Australia in September of 2013.  Tonight they are answering YOUR calls. Spiritual Fitness (Lessons from the Life of Samson, Part 2) (YBM Focus #50)

    in Lifestyle

As young men, we tend to put an emphasis on muscle and raw physical strength. And unfortunately we have a tendency to ignore the most important part of our existence—the spiritual part.

In reality, when we talk about spirituality, we aren’t talking about expressing emotion, but about something that is at the core of who we are—our souls. Your soul is the most important part of you, and if you aren’t spiritually fit, your soul is in bad shape. What does being “spiritually fit” really mean? Let’s look at what it meant for the hero, Samson.

GLMX #122: On the Winning Side

    in Christianity

Everyone likes to be a winner. Business people like to make profits. Students like to make good grades. Chefs like to make a perfect meal. Doctors like a successful surgery. And sports fans love it when their team wins -- even though they don't do anything to help the team win, they are at least satisfied in knowing that they are on the winning side.

We all feel that it is important to be on the winning side in any contest in life. But did you know that there is a greater and far more important contest that is going on right now? It is a contest, a struggle, of epic proportions. It is a contest that takes place in the spiritual realm and the physical realm. It is a contest that has the destiny of the world hanging in the balance.

God, the Heavenly Father and the Creator of the Universe, wants everyone to live good and peaceful lives on this earth in obedience to Him. He even says so in His Word. In Jeremiah 29:11 we read: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

The devil, however, has rebelled against God. He used to be a glorious angel, but now he leads and army of demons who seek to take control of the earth and use it for their own evil purposes. In John 10:10, we read of his evil purpose. The Bible says, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy..."
