We've seen the news, heard the lyrics in songs and can only imagine what the parents of Trayvon Martin are going through at this very moment. We have to become more conscious of how the music industry, news and silver screen help to reduce the value of the lives of our young black men.
In my discussion with black men, I've come to the realization that they deal with so much so where do they go to talk, to become vulnerable and to be given the respect of manhood. Where do we go from here in the uplifting of our men, the education of a younger generation and standing up for what's right?
Q: Does the dominant, very consistent negative portrayal of the black male contribute to the way our culture is perceived by others as well as we see ourselves?
Q: Do these images that incite fear, hatred and anger serve to further endanger our youth?
Q: Does the aspect of your child "fitting the description" give an armed individual (that is not a law enforcement officer) the authority to stalk, interrogate or detain your child?

There is a growing number of male caregivers to small children or aging parents in our society. Male caregivers now comprise 45% of all family caregivers in the nation.
The average male caregiver is 49 years old. He works at a full time job though, and is usually caring for an aging parent ( usually his mom- average age of 77). The average source of the caring in this situation is alzheimers or dementia.
It can be attributed to a number of different things though, including divorce, more female primary breadwinners in the family and more openly gay men.

Released in 1999 and after selling close to 5,000 units JB went on a small tour of the surrounding states. In 2004 he released an album called Seize the Moment, in 2012 he released soon to be famous and in October 2013 he is going to release another album called Dedication.
