Join host Dave Etter and assorted callers as we try and define what makes a good military spouse! Us guts do not have much in print on how to be that perfect partner while maintaining the standards set by the military branch we are forced to live with - so, what can we gleen from each other? This could get interesting, heated, nasty, sad, frustrating, fun.... who knows? You'll just have to listen and call in if it's during the live recording time!
MMSRS is a weekly 2-hour web-based call-in radio show (516-453-9167), hosted by Dave Etter, focusing on the needs of men married to serving military members, both men and women. Male Military Spouses are a small niche of military spouses, comprising of only 7%-8% of all military spouses. We feel left out, usually, at support functions - especially those designed with the spouses being identified as "wives"! We get cajoled at playgrounds where our kids play, from the mommies there who think we don't belong. We are proud SAHDs, who gave up our careers to follow our spouses as they dedicate thier lives to defend our country! Here, on this show, we come together and share beer recipes, diaper changing techniques, financial discoveries - manly things, for men! Typically airs Fridays at 9am CT, rated R for the cussing that can occur, and always available for download (podcast) immediately following each show.
Mobi D---: Inside the Life of a Male Stripper
If you listened to our episode, "Choosy Lover: Are you too Picky When it Comes to Dating?" on January 20, 2016, then you were as surprised as we were when a caller, Mobi D, announce to his mother that he is a male stripper. WE WERE SHOCKED!!! We were so shocked and intrigued, that we thought to invite Mobi D as our special guest.
In today’s world, we hear the many facets of female exotic dancers, but it is extremely rare to have an opportunity to learn what goes on behind the scenes with male exotic dancers. So on this episode, we’re going to delve into the life of Mobi D. We’re going to ask the hard questions (no pun intended).

Our guest for today is Rev. Albert D. Tyson III, the Presiding Elder of the North District, Chicago Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. The AME Church was founded in 1787, and has a mission to minister to the social, spiritual, and physical development of all people.
Elder Tyson is highly involved in the AME Church, and the community and civic affairs of Chicago and beyond. His resume is extensive, and time does not permit me to share it all, but here are a few highlights. Elder Tyson is a member of the Board of Examiners of the Chicago Conference African Methodist Episcopal Church. He has served as the Vice-President and and the Parliamentarian of the Board of Directors for the Interfaith Organizing Project (IOP). The Christian family has a unique role, by God's design. Based on today's standards, one might question that. Couples and their children are taking a closer look at what family life is meant to be and can be.
Today, the battle for the family is evident! And, the family has become a target of humanism – the amoral, atheistic philosophy that pervades our whole culture. So the questions are, "How shall we go about protecting our home and our families? And what must we do?”
We need to know what God intended and purposed for the family. Families have to be aware of and discern the influences that saturate our daily life – all those things that are contrary to God's Word. Then, once we know, believe and accept these, we can make a deliberate decision to live by God's standards.
Our goal is to uncover the importance of the family and its role. We will discuss the number one enemy of the family. We will also examine the role of husband, wife, and children. And, lastly, we ask that you please pray with us about how to survive the battle of the family.
Join us for our next Hope for Today podcast and tune in for the entire "Family Matters" series, over the next several weeks. Our hope is for you and us to live out the role of family, as God intended.
