The Detectors on the Death of Malcolm X grand son
Just prior to her death I spoke to Betty Shabazz on the phone that week she was going to fight for saving Affirmative Action and other issues of civil rights which no one has talked about. Yes she was active and knew that Blacks needed this in order to be able not to lose jobs as I knew from working within corporate America in fortune 100 Corporations for years. I saw the inner workings of Black men being denied jobs not because of education but just for being a threat as a black moving into a company and maybe moving up as a equal to another person who was not of color. I saw and was told of this by whites who controlled many businesses. I was ok because I was a Black woman who was needed to set up operations which streamed lined much in operations.
Again racism then is a thousdand times worse today because blacks have accepted it the acceptances has moved into the direction of why we have issues in the black community today. I hear so called black historians many who were NOT THERE speak of what was handed down to them as fact when the truth was coveruped within self media coverage of those who wanted to financial gain within the history. Betty Shabazz fought as I fought then and now over the air via the media which my father and family left to me, via hardship and other mentions the powers in the country had imposed on me over the years. Betty was not weathly but then the history of her murdered husband is, within tapes and documents. I know this because I had some of them because of the relationship my father Dan Burley had with the nation of Islam as the managing editor of the publication Muhammad Speaks and there is more listen tonight

Native American Music & Musicians Part 1
Hostess Lisa Sahani, WnT Board Member is joined by musical guests Joseph Strider and Steven Clawson.
The Americas contain hundreds of native communities, each with its own distinctive history, language, and musical culture. These communities—although united in placing music at the centre of public life—have developed extraordinarily diverse and multifaceted performance traditions. In latter years, Native Americans have created a special niche in the music industry and within that niche have sprung a number of Native American Musicians and Genres. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/1350772/Native-American-music
NAMMY Nominated, Acoustic guitarist Joseph Strider has covered a lot of musical ground in his career thus far. From boy soprano in school choirs, to playing with a cover band, Strider has spent the years developing his own unique style, a style that fits in no established genre and can best be described as Modern Indigenous Alternative. http://www.josephstrider.com
For South Georgia native Steven Clawson, blues, rock n’ roll and country are on the same beat. That beat, mixed with a little Cajun roots brings a sound that Steven and his fans like to call “Southern Soul”. Steven’s love of music and performing began at an early age, with much encouragement from his family. http://www.facebook.com/stevenclawsonmusic

Are we African/Afro-American, Black, or Negro?
Recent Gallup Polls shows that there is a lot of confusion amongst ourselves. We are not on one accord when it comes to what we call ourselves. 20% said Black. 20% said African-American. And 60% did not care one way or the other. Really? Could this be the reason for many of the issues in our community? The reason that we are so divided within our community. Something so simple, or one would think. This question is at the root of a bitter national controversy over the proper designation for identifiable Americans of African descent and has been since before the 19th century.Does African/Afro American properly identify who we are? Is Black simply a color, a skin tone, not used to define a entire race? Have we done to much damage to even consider the resurrection of the Negro?

To Kill A Revolution : The Short Life Of Malcolm Shabazz
ery reflective this week... the death of this young man disturbed me and quieted my soul. I grieve for him, for the legacy of his grandfather (Malcolm X) who impacted the very way I think. This is a defeat of epic proportions...and my very soul weeps for what we have lost.Cut down as he was learning to walk, because he would have been the one to make us run. While i may not have a "mainstream" voice... I believe no one knows or understands WHO this man was or what he was about... most only know the conjecture beh
