    GSICR welcomes DeLeon Carr

    in Goals

    De'Leon Carr

“It’s all about making music that people can listen to in their everyday life, from riding through the hood on a sunny day, top back, windows down banging beats or getting ready for worship on Sunday morning. We must meet people where they are with that same message.” says De’Leon.

ALL THINGS ARE READY NOW.... after many years of serving in the background for many in different genres such as Ricky Dillard, Dewayne Woods, Vashawn Mitchell, Shirley Caesar, Byron Cage, Dorothy Norwood, Velmer Watkins to hip hop artist like Dungeon Family and pop icon Celine Dion...It’s time for De’leon to step forward and bless the world with what has been dubbed “Life Music”.

De’Leon is currently working on his Debut project aptly entitled ***BALANCE*** (Release date Fall 2015) with a single scheduled for release Summer 2014 with production credits from Will Pierre, Travis Malloy, and others.

Born in Memphis, TN, and raised in Atlanta, GA De’leon is the son of a Preacher Woman and public school educator who instilled faith and education as a priority over everything else. When he was 10yrs old, Ricky Dillard, Hez Walker, and O’Landa Draper came to his church and De’Leon was sold, he knew immediately he wanted to sing in the choir. At an early age De’Leon was singing in the youth choir at his church but quickly was elevated to sing in the adult choir. Not only was he the youngest person to sing in the 100-voice choir but by age 13, he was directing and teaching.

POWERHOUSE BOMBSHELLS CAFE CON LECHE VERSATILE RADIO SUZI CARR CARLOS GONZALEZ

    in Radio

Join us with Artist/Producer Suzi Carr, formerly of the group Will To Power as our CoHost in Powerhouse Bombshell's Cafe Con Leche with Marcela Olivar, Mari Fisher, Marla G. and DJ Flash.

Tonight's guest will be, Comedian/Actor Carlos Gonzalez direct from New York.

Not your stereotypical Latino! Although his name is common, there is nothing common about this Colombian-born, New York-bred actor and comedian. Carlos, who was carefully saran wrapped, packaged and snuck through U.S. customs, has brought his brand of humor to give those laughter addicts their fix, exploding onto the scene as a multifaceted bilingual artist.

You may have seen Carlos on such hit shows as HBO's “Sex & the City”, NBC's “Law and Order” and abc’s “NYPD Blue”. He’s also been on MTV Tr3s’s “Entertainment as a Second Language” and is currently playing the recurring role of officer Garcia on abc’s “One Life To Live”. From comedy to soap operas, Carlos continues to display his strong talent and his range for television, film and the stage.

MacKenzie Blues Band, Generation Blues Experience, Bob Corritore & Sena Ehrhardt

    in Music

Out of Ontario, Canada comes the MacKenzie Blues Band. Consisting of classically trained vocalist, Tara MacKenzie, guitarist Trevor MacKenzie, bassist Joel Dawson & drummer Mike Weir, they have just released their sophomore album Slam! Bam!, containing 12 originals.  The band has traveled to Memphis for the IBC twice and we will discuss their careers and their music.

Generation Blues Experience is the joining of 14-year old Ray Goren, who has played guitar at the Chicago Blues Festival and with Buddy Guy and more.  he was introduced to 80-year old bluesman, Jamie Bluesboy Powell and septuangenerian harpist Sammy Lee.  The three were introduced a few years agao and their musical talents meshed, and Generation Blues Band was formed. We'll talk about how their music bridges the generational gap and where they hope to go in the near future.

Bob Corritore needs no introduction.  Maybe an explanation as to why it has taken so long to bring Bob on the show; well I interviewed him for American Blues News a number of years ago, he has visited during my IBC shows and somehow,my brain turned that into him having appeared on a Monday show!  When I realized my mistake, I reached out and Bob accepted.  We'll look at how it all began some 40 years ago and then also chat with Bob about his take on the Blues World today as compared to when he was sharing the stage with the many legends who are no longer with us. We'll share some of the mus from Bob's latest, Taboo.

Finally, Sena Ehrhardt returns for COUCH KID NEW MUSIC for her new album, Live My Life.  Sena originally sat on The Couch back in May 2013, so we will find out what the last year has brought to this wonderful artist.
