The WingMaker is about a little girl that gave her life so that others could grow wings. It is about the beauty gifted to the capable by the challenged. It is about becoming worthy by becoming aware; first of oneself and then of others. The little girl, whose name is Reazon, has Cerebral Palsy. She has spent her life in a wheelchair, surrounded by siblings that play while her mother works. Her dream is to play and be “normal” so that her mother won’t have to work so hard. Since Reazon is her mother’s reason for the many choices in life, change is not easy to attain. A specialist by the name of Happy-Ness arrives and teaches the art of play and how to use biofeedback for the brain in order to recreate the game. This is a story of discovery that answers the question, “Who makes wings? The savior or the saved?” It’s the WingMaker of course. This story is true, if you think it can be.
Lynette’s international reality series FIX IT IN FIVE with LYNETTE LOUISE aka THE BRAIN BROAD, the pilot for which was originally aired at the Autism One conference in Chicago 2010, is now available for viewing on The Autism Channel. Lynette’s book Miracles Are Made: The Real Life Guide To Autism was released April 2011. Her latest book, The WingMaker, was released Nov. 2013.
Lynette Louise (also known as THE BRAIN BROAD) travels the globe working with children and adults who are struggling with various brain disorders. She specializes in autism and uses a combination of play, family dynamics counseling, and neurofeedback in homes internationally. Lynette brings plenty of creativity and flair to her work! She’s a singer, speaker, author, neurofeedback practitioner, comedian, and proud mom of eight now grown children–six were adopted and four were on the autism spectrum.
Lynette travels internationally as a practitioner, as well as a performer and speaker on the subjects of mental health and the brain. Her one woman musical comedy show CRAZY TO SANE teaches with laughter, candor and toe tapping tunes. The show—and the CD– are a collage of her life as the daughter of abuse and the mother of autism. With artistic splendor she weaves the learning’s of a lifetime, comedy and brain science into this entertaining and emotional show.
In the interest of sharing her knowledge widely she has also authored three books. Her latest is The WingMaker, a rhyming picture book based on a beautiful true story. Again, Lynette finds a way to share important and actionable information with candor and humor. As the host of the popular podcast A NEW SPIN ON AUTISM: ANSWERS! Lynette invitesknowledgeable and surprising guests, and together they explore topics (ranging from neuroscience to stand-up comedy) with fun and fascination until discovering useful autism answers. Her latest project, an international reality series called FIX IT IN FIVE with LYNETTE LOUISE aka THE BRAIN BROAD offers help to families with fun, kindness, and concrete answers for a myriad of brain disorders and is now airing on The Autism Channel. In a nutshell, Lynette Louise is a passionate and tireless sharer of life’s actionable answers!
ENVISIONS THIS: Helping people’s brains to heal themselves.
We welcome Lynette Louise, author of The WingMaker, healer, and counselor of families dealing with members on the Autism spectrum or other debilitating childhood conditions. She blends personal and family experience with professional knowledge in a beautiful way as she advocates for the use of neurofeedback not just to help the autistic child but also the rest of the family.
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive therapy that guides the brain to establish healthy balance. Lynette uses it in conjunction with intensive bonding between the healer and the healed, play therapy, and deep regard for the role and wisdom of the parents.
In The WingMaker, a true story from Lynette’s practice, Reazon has Cerebral Palsy and has spent her life in a wheelchair, surrounded by siblings that play while her mother works. Her dream is to play and be “normal” so that her mother won’t have to work so hard. Happy-Ness arrives and teaches the art of play and biofeedback for the brain so that Reazon might get her wish.
We found it such an inspiring short book on leading a severely handicapped child toward self-healing that we will ask Lynette to read it over the air and comment on it. It gently leads practitioners toward an understanding that the client is ultimately the true “Wing Maker.” It inspires our understanding of just how miraculous self-healing instrument the human body and brain can be when lovingly, receptively guided.
