For the past eight years Bob Miller has promoted at least one race on the USAC Eastern Storm Tour as part of the Thunder On The Hill series. The JESSE HOCKETT CLASSIC at Grandview Speedway has become the kickoff event for the prestigious USAC organization . This year’s event is on June 2nd. But before we get to that we have the Five 25’s this Sunday May 24th. Bob will be with us to get all up to date on Thunder On The Hill.
As we continue to gear up for the USAC Eastern Storm tour we are pleased to have one of the top stars of this series on the show. Brady Bacon from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma will join us to give us what it means to come east for this annual event.
Racing is often a family affair, and 27-year-old Chase Stockon is no exception. The Elizabethtown, Ind., native started racing quarter midgets at only five years old. Today, you can find Stockon racing at dirt tracks across the country in the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car series. Chase is currently second in national points and is looking forward to his trip East in a few weeks to defend his win in last year’s JESSE HOCKETT CLASSIC at Grandview Speedway. Tune is as we start our preparation for USAC Wingless 410 sprint car racing the first week of June.
When the Action Track USA in Kutztown is ready to open you know Spring is here and the hot Summer action on a Wednesday night is ready to kick off. We have columnist/announcer Barry Angstadt with us to get us ready for all the action that starts this Wednesday at the Action Track.
This week on Low Down and Dirty we have a jammed packed show. First up we have Danny Serrano General Manager of the Bridgeport Speedway. Serrano handles the ‘day to day’ tasks at the race track during the week and also works close with the drivers, fans, sponsors, and employee staff on race day. Danny is going to cover all the activities leading up to Saturdays 3rd Annual 60over Special/Doug Hoffman Memorial event which will serve as the first hand in the 2015 Poker Series.
Next we will have Ryan Smith “The Kunkletown Kid”. Ryan has recently released the news that he will spend the first month with the All Stars before making a determination about how long he can stay on the road full time. He also has planned to fill in his schedule of approximately 60-to-65 races with local events in Pennsylvania as well as select World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races on the East Coast. Ryan will get us up to date on this aggressive schedule.
This week we kick the sprint car wars into high gear locally and we got one of the young lions in the area. Brent Marks from Myerstown PA already has a Top-Five finish at the Lincoln 'Icebreaker' and has big plans for the upcoming season. The 19M race team plans on being at Williams Grove this Friday night but you may be surprised what happens after that. Brent will be with us to fill in the blanks.
You asked for it folks so we got him. Fred Rahmer is synonymous with 410 Sprint Cars in Pennsylvania. In the past we have talked with him about his driving adventures. This time he will have the Fred Rahmer Promotions hat on as we talk about his upcoming promotion this Sunday at Path Valley Speedway. Fred brings the fastest cars on dirt—the 410 Sprint Cars—to Spring Run, Pennsylvania’s Path Valley Speedway, on Sunday, April 26th, giving drivers the opportunity to add to the already lucrative purse with paid qualifying events, bonus money and a unique contingency award program that allows fans to vote for the winner.
Next it will be Cody Darrah one of the Stars expected to stick around and challenge for over $5,000-to-win at Path Valley Speedway Park on Sunday, April 26. We will ask him directly if he is going to join many others 410 stars for the Battle at the Path. A lot to talk about with Cody as he has been in the news lately with a team change and substitute driver.
It is time to get the ARDC (American Racing Drivers Club) midget season started with the opener at Linda’s Speedway this Friday night. We will have PJ Gargiulo driver of the JHG Racing #5 ARDC Midget. Deb Smith will also be joining us to give us the news on the upcoming season for the oldest midget club in the United States.
Who is the hottest driver to hold a steering wheel of a Modified here in the northeast? That is right Ryan Godown off his two wins this past weekend will be on the show with us. “The Ringoes Rocket” with a win at New Egypt Speedway Saturday and then backed it up with a win at Bridgeport Speedway on Sunday in the RoC 60 Over Doug Hoffman Memorial.
Andrew Harpell is set to throw the gates open at the Five Mile Point Speedway this coming weekend and will be with us to highlight the season ahead. We are also going to talk about the RoC schedule as Andrew is the Race Director for that series also. Lots to talk about from up North.
Ya need to stay tuned until the end of the show this week. We have a special mystery guest you won’t want to miss. The last half hour will prove to be interesting.
On April 26, 2006 at 9:05 a.m., everything shifted for Roy Tuscany. He was at Mammoth Mountain for his 2nd Coaches Retreat. On his first run of the day, he hit a jump he'd hit a 100 times before except -- this time -- he overshot it. The people who did the accident investigation told him he traveled over 130 feet and flew more than 30 feet in the air. It was not a good crash.
Roy suffered a burst fracture of his T-12 vertebrae and severed the artery in his right thumb. HeI was life-flighted to Reno and told he was an incomplete paraplegic. Someone said that being an incomplete is a lot like purgatory -- you're stuck somewhere in the middle between a wheelchair and moving easily on two feet.
Roy knew from the beginning he wanted to walk and ski again. He had health insurance, but just a few weeks before the accident, Roy turned down a chance for disability insurance. There were a lot of things that health insurance didn't attend to -- alternative medicine treatments, gym memberships, acupuncture, rent, food, adaptive sports equipment and the insurance deductible.
Roy decided in the hosptial he would start a fund to protect other risk-taking winter athletes who wound up on the wrong side of crashes. The name for the fund -- the High Fives Foundation -- came from his early hospital experience. Doctors and therapists would come into his room and hide behind their clipboards. It was as if they didn't want to interact with him. So, he made them give him a high five. Hand to hand, skin to skin, forced them to connect. It also made them friends from the get-go.
If there were one way to sum up how Roy lives his my life and what the foundation is doing, it would be this. He's breaking the boundaries of purgatory.

Poor, below poverty, ghetto crime, law, Officials,Washington DC. Where do changes start and with whom will start the change. African Americans have a tittle and for the land of the free and home of the brave it can't get past the titles of people who were born and raised on theis American soil. Have you ever heard give a fish and a person eat for a day but if you teach them to fish they can eat forever. Well this works for many things yet there are things which takes a little bit more than training it takes examples many times because people are different. People learn in many different ways.
