Low Carb OR Protein Rich Weight Loss

    in Weight Loss

Low carb diets don't work long-term because they're blanket approaches and every one responds to carbohydrates differently. Low carb thinking also contributes to a diet mentality and it's no secret to "diets" don't work. Instead, flip the way you think about the nutrition profile of your meals and with protein in mind, knowing your carb theshold (how many carbs you can eat without being in fat storing mode) and eating in a way that is customized to your metabolism - you can both lose weight and keep it off.

    Low Down and Dirty 3/24/2015

    in Radio

This week on Low Down and Dirty we have a jammed packed show. First up we have Danny Serrano General Manager of the Bridgeport Speedway. Serrano handles the ‘day to day’ tasks at the race track during the week and also works close with the drivers, fans, sponsors, and employee staff on race day. Danny is going to cover all the activities leading up to Saturdays 3rd Annual 60over Special/Doug Hoffman Memorial event which will serve as the first hand in the 2015 Poker Series.

Next we will have Ryan Smith “The Kunkletown Kid”.  Ryan has recently released the news that he will spend the first month with the All Stars before making a determination about how long he can stay on the road full time. He also has planned to fill in his schedule of approximately 60-to-65 races with local events in Pennsylvania as well as select World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races on the East Coast. Ryan will get us up to date on this aggressive schedule.

This week we kick the sprint car wars into high gear locally and we got one of the young lions in the area. Brent Marks from Myerstown PA already has a Top-Five finish at the Lincoln 'Icebreaker' and has big plans for the upcoming season. The 19M race team plans on being at Williams Grove this Friday night but you may be surprised what happens after that. Brent will be with us to fill in the blanks.

Curtis Harwell Discusses Which are Better High Carb or Low Carbs Diet Plans

    in Fitness

    Popular Diet Plans

It seems the biggest current craze is eating low carbs. Basically, you eat a lot of protein and any kind of fats, but you drastically limit your carbohydrate intake.

An Analysis Of Low Carbohydrate Diets!
This article will focus on the inherent problems of all carb reduction diets, the premises discussed apply to all forms of carb reduction diets so this applies to the NHE, Atkins diet, CKD, TKD and all other carb reduction plans...

Depending on your plan, carbs might be restricted to 50 grams or less per day. Of course to make it more confusing, carbs are subcategorized into specific types of carbs. You have sugars and starches and they're the net carbs. There are also fibers and a newly-concocted chemical called sugar alcohol. That's the ingredient glycerin, which is in your low-carb, high-protein bars that keeps the bar moist instead of being a sawdust consistency.

Net carbs have a tendency to raise your blood sugar levels so you're not burning fat as efficiently. If you're following a low-carb plan, net carbs should be avoided. Unlike sugars and simple starches, proteins and fats do not raise the blood sugar levels and so you have the freedom to eat more of those. (Can you say hamburgers wrapped in lettuce instead of setting on a bun?)

You asked for it folks so we got him. Fred Rahmer is synonymous with 410 Sprint Cars in Pennsylvania. In the past we have talked with him about his driving adventures. This time he will have the Fred Rahmer Promotions hat on as we talk about his upcoming promotion this Sunday at Path Valley Speedway. Fred brings the fastest cars on dirt—the 410 Sprint Cars—to Spring Run, Pennsylvania’s Path Valley Speedway, on Sunday, April 26th, giving drivers the opportunity to add to the already lucrative purse with paid qualifying events, bonus money and a unique contingency award program that allows fans to vote for the winner.

Next it will be Cody Darrah one of the Stars expected to stick around and challenge for over $5,000-to-win at Path Valley Speedway Park on Sunday, April 26. We will ask him directly if he is going to join many others 410 stars for the Battle at the Path. A lot to talk about with Cody as he has been in the news lately with a team change and substitute driver.
