"Singer and songwriter Geneviève Bellemare announced that her debut album “Melancholy Fever” will be released September 18th, 2015. The 12 song LP is available now for pre-order on iTunes and most digital service providers.
Recorded in London and L.A., Melancholy Fever arrives as the follow-up to Bellemare’s 2014 debut EP Live and Die, which NPR hailed as “carefully composed, but her singing makes it all feel intuitive.” On the new album Bellemare worked with producers Mitchell Froom (Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello), Tony Berg (Nickel Creek), Paul O’Duffy (Amy Winehouse), and Busbee (Ingrid Michaelson) to dream up a brightly arranged breed of pop, which, when paired with classic drum breaks, results in a stark and soulful sound that isn’t easily categorized.
The lead single “Shenanigans,” with its soul-pop stylings and urgent rhythm, twists lyrics like “You make me feel like a crazy bitch” into an unlikely message of empowerment. “I wrote that song partly as a way to deal with a few situations where I’d come off as weak, and really wanted to prove myself,” says Geneviève. Interview magazine recently named “Shenanigans” their TRACK OF THE WEEK.

New Single “I Miss You” Debuts at #30 on the Billboard UAC Chart!
Once upon a time there were many great self-contained R&B and funk groups, innovative, immensely popular artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, War, The Meters, The Commodores, Kool & The Gang, Lakeside, Slave and many others who created a body of work in the 70s and 80s that still thrills audiences today. ConFunkShun was one of the successful bands in this wave, scoring 25 chart hits between 1976 and their break-up in 1987, including such smash hits as “Ffun,” “Chase Me,” “Electric Lady,” “Baby I’m Hooked” and others—many of which have been liberally sampled by the hip-hop generation. When the band re-united with lead vocalists/songwriters Michael Cooper and Felton Pilate, after more than two decades apart, they were welcomed back by their fans as they toured nationally to adoring crowds. Not content to ride on their past hits, they began writing and recording new material which they found got great response in concert. Their highly anticipated new CD and Shanachie debut MORE THAN LOVE (April 28, 2015) is the band’s first new studio album in more than two decades. Their new music finds ConFunkShun as irresistible as ever. Comprised of some of the most soulful, seasoned and respected musicians on the scene, ConFunkShun is: Michael Cooper (Lead vocals, guitar, keys), Felton Pilate (Lead vocals, trombone, keys), EQ/Eric Young (bass), Karl Fuller (trumpet, flugelhorn), KC/Kurt Clayton (keys, vocals), Ron Moton (sax, vocals) and Brian Collier (drums).
Soulful, sultry singing sensation Sade Serena Debuts new single ' Whatever U Want ".
Birthed on September 27 to Jamaican immigrant parents, the Miami-born
and bred starlet’s foray into music is inevitable, as she exhibits sheer unbridled
talent framed with gorgeous looks, destined to make her a force to be reckoned
with in pop music.
Sade Serena fatefully entered the rhythmic realm at the tender age of 12, recording
a demo with a family friend named Rhovan, after receiving much encouragement
to sing for years. "Lo Tienes (You Got What I Want)” was the name of the faithful
track, and although the song was never officially released as a single, it granted
Sade Serena invaluable recording experience, along with her first taste of lyrical
liberation. “We performed that song for summertime jams and open-call talent
shows, and received a lot of love from audiences,” reveals Sade Serena. “We were
like the mini Ja Rule and Ashanti.”
By age 17, Sade Serena was earning her stripes as a background singer, performing
in renowned Miami music venues like the House of Blues and the American
Airlines Arena. “As my hunger grew for my own spotlight, I started singing lead
vocals for local bands at lounges such as Mangos in South Beach, and even in
hotel lobbies like The Ritz Carlton.”
LOTL THE COMFORT ZONE Welcomes Adina Howard . Debuts“Bad 4 Me”
Personal Message from Adina : It’s been a minute since I’ve given my fans the type of music that is indicative of the sound and space that I’m in artistically. To this point historically I’ve been know by my classic hits like “Freak Like Me”, “T-Shirt & My Panties”, and “Nasty Grind” and I love that my fans love these hits. However it’s now time to create new music while giving my fans elements of the “old” Adina sound that they’ve come to love. With that being said I want to bring the industry my new sound, a more mature sound that I know the fans will appreciate.
“Bad 4 Me” is my new single that I am really excited about, why? Because this sound is refreshing and is truly good music. I’m stepping out on faith, grabbing the bull by its horns and taking my destiny in my own hands
Performers come and go, but singers, it can be argued, are forever. The power of Song is not easily forgotten—Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, and Denise Williams are voices that linger in the memory. That kind of heartfelt singing is what Nikia aspires to. “These two [Whitney and Patti] inspired me the most you know they were real vocalists. My uncle, Charlie Wilson, pushed me to practice and become a great vocalist. You know, practice, practice, practice! He is a singer he was the lead singer of The Gap Band.”
The 2nd Single “The Drug Song” is but an appetizer for the feast to come, the release of her album She is Me. Love is the drug and Nikia scores with a confidently, sweetly seductively I-need-you vocal and an undulating, slightly techno-tinged electronic cradle of rhythm. Nikia's singing has two distinctive tones herein: The coolly passionate in the body of the song and the crisp, commanding refrain/hook “Just awesome”—both distinctive, both Nikia.
The forthcoming album (in early 2016) will feature material penned by her, including “Missing You,” a slightly different side of Nikia. With a sparkling, funk-flavored guitar intro, “Missing You” has a lilt that slightly suggests reggae rhythms. Nikia’s voice is romantic longing personified, her clear, honey-toned voice (evoking the classy old-school soul of Denise Williams and the Philly soul of Gamble & Huff) riding the melody with easy, bittersweet poise. The production of Shawn Keys of Shawn Keys Ink is sparse, putting the spotlight on the song and the singer (instead of drawing attention to the production itself). “Missing You” has a bittersweet pull to it that’s hard to resist, sweet as a brand-new romance, and slightly stinging like a heartache that’s beginning to heal.
