Begin with the end in mind. What do you see yourself becoming? - Lisa Will

In this 2015 Vision Casting episode, join Lisa Will as she fashions Stonz Wear into reality. With her unwavering resolve to smart design to meet the niche of kids' wear, she has created a brand that has stood out in quality and authenticity - and continues to do so.

How did Lisa realize her vision for Stonz Wear?

Solid Purpose: begin with the end in mind.
    Solid Financials: know your numbers.
    Solid A Team: build a like-minded tribe.

Lisa founded her million-dollar company from the need to find her young son a suitable footwear that stayed on. 10 years after the company's initial conception in 2004, Stonz Wear has grown into a thriving business in worldwide wholesale and retail markets. The company has been awarded the Canadian Pediatric Seal of Approval in 2012 and honored by organizations such as Mom's Best, National Parenting Center, iParenting, and Creative Child Magazine Awards. Lisa earned the RBC Women Entrepreneur of the Year Western finalist in the year 2010. And most recently, she was nominated for the Ersnt & Young 2014 North American EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women Program.

Today, Stonz Wear has extended its reach from Canada, to the US, Chile, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Scandinavia, UK, and Europe, from the miraculous beginning of one stall at a Vancouver gift show in 2004.

Is There Power In the Steps or do the Steps Show Us Our Need For a Power?

    in Family

Step One: "We admitted "WE" were powerless over alcohol (addiction) - that our lives had become unmanagable." Who cares to admit complete defeat? Admission of powerlessness is the first step in liberation. Relation of humility to sobriety. Mental obession plus physical allergy, and spiritual malady. Why must every A.A. hit bottom? We know that little good can come to any alcoholic who joins A.A. unless he has first accepted his alcoholism (addiction) and all its consequences. Until he so humbles himself, his sobriety - if any - will be null and void. Of real happiness he will find none at all. Proved beyond doubt by an immense experience, this is one of the facts of A.A. life. The principle that we shall find no enduring strength until we first admit complete defeat is the main taproot from which our whole Society has sprung and flowered. It is a statistical fact that alcoholics/addicts almost never recover on their own resources, and this has been true ever since man has been crushing grapes.

Few people will sincerely try to practice the A.A. program unless they have hit bottom. For practicing A.A.'s remaining eleven Steps means the adoption of attitudes and actions that almost no alcoholic who is still drinking can dream of taking. Who wishes to be rigorously honest and tolerant? Who wants to confess his faults to another and make restitution for harm done? Who cares anything about a Higher Power/God let alone meditation and prayer? Who wants to sacrifice time and energy in trying to carry A.A.'s message to the next sufferer? No, the average alcoholic, self-centered in the extreme, doesn't care for this prospect - unless he has to do these things in order to stay alive himself. Join me and my special guest Monty Meyer aka the Monty'man from Take12radio.com this Fri nite Mar 27th at 9pm CT as we discuss dfferent versions of how people see the steps worked, then the proper way to work the steps

Branding and Consulting: The Power of Design Work Special Guest, Patrice Johnson

    in Entrepreneur

Patrice Johnson is the owner/principal of Virtual Illustrations, a design consultancy located in Charlotte NC. For the last 14 years, Patrice has used the power of design to develop inspiring creations for clients ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. The company specializes in logo development and publication design; but also offers branding, e-marketing, advertising, print collateral, simple website design...and virtually anything else creative that you can think of.

Patrice always had an eye for all things creative - whether it be plating a dish, decorating a home or graphic design. She worked at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for 13 years and initially began doing graphic design as an extension of her work there - producing marketing materials for training sessions, etc. She was soon approached by a co-worker who suggested she consider doing graphic design as a business. After giving it some thought, Patrice gave it a try on a part time basis. Later, she went on to open the business full time, after leaving the school system as a process manager in the Superintendent's office in 2005.

    in Radio

For the longest time, there have been amassed hangup within ourselves, as well, as each other. Pressures from within our communities, places of residence, social circles and abroad, we have been catching hell. The incisive in-fighting between genders only creates capital gains in the areas that we continue to allow to lose major ground. On this subject in particular, we assemble the adults and the young in mind together in order to put these unnecessary fires out that have razed our unified potential and seek to start mending the wounds and pieces together.

Granted, conversations such as there, are nor are ever easy; there is a great deal of misinformation, corrupted software and damaged components that long to be repaired to help us start getting back to performing correctly. That reality strikes fear into the hearts and minds of those whom benefitted from our calamity. Time to have that overdue conversation...The 1st of many....

How many different hats do you wear in your daily life?

    in Relationships

We all have our own personal struggles in a daily basis, especially when we are trying to strife to be the best we can be.  Metaphorically, Many of us wear different hats through the day. From the moment we wake up, we are ourselves first, and then if we have children, we wear the hat of a parent.  If we have to take care of our loved ones, we wear the hat of the caretaker, and then for a moment we may have ourselves again, before we wear our hat for work.  Through the day we have thoughts that takes us in small journeys before bringing us back to our reality.  Those journeys include our hopes and dreams, a resolution, heartbreak, a loss, confusion about a situation, a yearning for something to mention a few.

These are all mental explorations and in those moments we are wearing a hat of contentment.  Maybe we are looking forward to reading a novel that is transporting us to a place we wish to be; or longing for that special treat.  However, work calls and here we are back with our Work-Hat and before long, there are other distractions and time consuming tasks. If we are lucky we get to go home and enjoy wearing our favorite hat.

Staying true to your every experience will help you have full access and understanding of your life.  The more committed you are to the fact that you are wearing different hats through your day, the better experience you will have in a daily basis.
