    Introduction to Social Media

    This episode will introduce you to popular social media channels. During this introductory session we will explore the ins and outs and how to get started with: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Wordpress.
    During subsequent episodes we will cover the characteristics of each social media in more details. In the upcoming episodes I will also explain how to:
    - Create a social media profile
    - Joining and creating groups, circles and communities
    - Connecting with friends and colleagues
    - Creating a social media page
    - Starting and contributing to discussions and conversations
    - Liking and unliking others
    - Engaging your followers and connections

    Bob Whittaker of Orion TV

    Bob Whittaker, winner of two Royal Television Society Awards, has been a senior broadcaster for more than 30 years, working as a journalist, producer-director, documentary maker and programme editor with BBC, Granada, Tyne Tees, Sky and ITN. 
    In 1999 Bob became Head of Factual Programmes with London News Network (LNN) – owned by ITV- where he was in charge of a diverse portfolio of documentaries, current affairs, history, travel, and factual entertainment series and live programming for UK and International broadcasters.
    Bob launched up Orion TV in 2004 as Managing Director and Exec Producing factual programmes for digital and terrestrial broadcasters.

    Bob, a former miner, graduated from Durham University in 1974 when he broke into journalism as a weekly newspaper reporter before entering broadcasting with BBC local radio in Cumbria, in 1977 as a reporter then producer. Bob launched his TV career at Granada in Manchester as News Editor then on screen Reporter in 1980.
