    in Health

Most of us know about the emotional symptoms of depression, including feelings of sadness, anxiety and hopelessness. But you may not know that depression can be associated with many physical symptoms, too. Many times those suffering from physical pain do not seek help they need.

Physical pain can effect your emotional health. As some of you know, if you've ever had a migraine headache or a toothache, all you wanted to do was make the pain stop -- the last thing you wanted to do was be social or in a public setting.  In fact, many people with depression suffer from chronic pain or other physical symptoms.

Let's check out the 9 Physical Symptoms of Depression.

    Living Water Drinking Deeply

    in Motivation

John chapter 4 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. Here in his conversation with The Woman at the Well, Jesus tells us about living water. He explains that God is Spirit and that those who worship must worship in spirit and in truth. In a day and time when it seems that everything is on overdrive, let's talk about what it means to drink deeply of the living water in the 21st century.

    Living With Bipolar & Depression

    in Entertainment

Bipolar disorder is a chronic illness with recurring episodes of mania and depression that can last from one day to months. This mental illness causes unusual and dramatic shifts in mood, energy and the ability to think clearly. Cycles of high (manic) and low (depressive) moods may follow an irregular pattern that differs from the typical ups and downs experienced by most people. The symptoms of bipolar disorder can have a negative impact on a person’s life. Damaged relationships or a decline in job or school performance are potential effects, but positive outcomes are possible.

Two main features characterize people who live with bipolar disorder: intensity and oscillation (ups and downs). People living with bipolar disorder often experience two intense emotional states. These two states are known as mania and depression. A manic state can be identified by feelings of extreme irritability and/or euphoria, along with several other symptoms during the same week such as agitation, surges of energy, reduced need for sleep, talkativeness, pleasure-seeking and increased risk taking behavior. On the other side, when an individual experiences symptoms of depression they feel extremely sad, hopeless and loss of energy. Not everyone’s symptoms are the same and the severity of mania and depression can vary.

More than 10 million Americans have bipolar disorder. Because of its irregular patterns, bipolar disorder is often hard to diagnose. Although the illness can occur at any point in life, more than one-half of all cases begin between ages 15-25. Bipolar disorder affects men and women equally.

    Depression and Neurofeedback

    in Moms and Family

Feeling down or depressed from time to time happens to most people. Usually such feelings pass, and a person can improve his or her mood naturally. However, some people cannot break out of a depressed state over an extended period of time. In those cases, a person is considered to have clinical depression. However, there is much research that shows that depression is neurological, not psychological. Certain brain patterns are frequently linked to depression.
