1) We updated you on the Linwood Lambert tasing death that took place in May 2013 in Virginia. It appears the Police lied about key aspects of the incident on the Police report but it is contradicted by the dashcam video. 2) Retired African American Police Officers want a hiring freeze in Chicago untile the DOJ completes their investigation. 3) GOP Presidential were caught in lies and giving non factual statements in the last debate. Get ready to laugh at this segment. 4) There has been a trial date set in the Civil Lawsuit in the Sandra Bland death. 5) Shaquille O'Neil is giving back to his hometown of Newark, NJ in a big way. 6) An 8 year old African American is trying to bring joy to other little girls by collecting Barbie Dolls for them. 7) We shared an excerpt of Dr. King's last speech, "I've Been To The Mountaintop" where he talked about the need to "Redistribute The Pain".

A Young Black man Linwood Lambert was killed by twenty police tasers while he was running toward a hospital entrance with his hands cuffed behind him. This was caught on video and yet thirty months later no charges. Armadou Diallo was shot 41 times by police while reaching for his requested ID, and no charges, in fact one of the officers involved was promoted to sergeant this week. In the past, Black communities were targeted against development, jobs and growth. Many Black people were killed in the streets in random shooting and often killed unarmed like little twelve year old Tamir Rice in an Ohio playground with a toy gun. Black Lives Matter and todays broadcast will show why.

After spending his formative years helping run a cottage resort and trailer park after his father died when he was 16, Linwood Barclay got his first newspaper job at the Peterborough Examiner, a small Ontario daily. In 1981, he joined the Toronto Star, Canada’s largest circulation newspaper. He held such positions as assistant city editor, chief copy editor, news editor, and Life section editor, before becoming the paper’s humour columnist in 1993. He was one of the paper’s most popular columnists before retiring from the position in 2008 to work exclusively on books.

Bretall is a board member of the Linwood YMCA and a graduate of the Kansas City Chamber’s Centurions leadership program and was recently appointed by Kansas City Mayor Sly James to the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority (PIEA). The PIEA fosters commercial and industrial development in specifically designated redevelopment areas and is one of just a handful of women in such a position.
