I was introduced to LaShonda by one of my very favoririt house music divas (Inaya Day). The music sent to me, Mojitos and Sunshine as well as Watcha gonn do Wit My Lovin' just blew me away. BTW you HAVE to check out the music video to "Mojitos and Sunshine" fiyah hunny. I'm ready to run to the beach! But in the meanwhile, I will enjoy this opportunity to discuss career, music, and upcoming performances with the gorgeous and extremely talented LaShonda Reese, right here on Brunch In the Basement With JaVonne.

Tonights show Im going super mama. My son has had issues with the same kid for the last 3 years. As a brown male child Im trying to NOT get him started on a bad family trait....fighting. At this point Im ready to show up to the school everyday to watch this kid try my son so I can go off on the teachers that allow it. What really upsets me is the issue with the PARENTS of this child. To call my son a racial slur last year, spit on him another year (I almost saw God that day) and to call my son an asshole yesterday are things he has seen in his home obviously. My son was prompted by the racial slur to write about it in his book we published last year called ,"Journal of a Kid Waiting to be King" available on amazon as well as my website. Although I teach my son to fight with his words at some point after the shoving and taking of my sons books or lunchbox it might just be time for Malcolm X not Martin Luther.
Susaye Greene & Scherrie Payne
Greene was a member of The Supremes from early 1976 to summer of 1977 (replacing Cindy Birdsong), and performed on their last two albums, High Energy and Mary, Scherrie & Susaye. Working alongside original member Mary Wilson and Scherrie Payne, Susaye quickly found her niche in the group and amongst the group's legions of fans. Susaye took lead on "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother," in the group's live shows, which never failed to garner a standing ovation, and recorded "High Energy", the title song from the High Energy album. On June 12, 1977, the Supremes performed their farewell concert at the Drury Lane Theater in London and disbanded.

In this episode of "ROATM" host Nafeesha (Flawless darapchick) Pasha and co-host Desmond Maurice Carter (DMC) discuss the DL Brother epidemic. They tackle the tough questions:
1. If being a DL brother is socially unacceptable, ladies would you date a male that was honest about his sexuality & told you up front that he had been with men?
2. Should people that RSVP to a wedding & don't show, be charged for their plate of food?
Don't miss out on this entertaining & contraversial topic!
