This week, Laura Murphy, Director of the Washington Legislative Office for the American Civil Liberties Union.
Ms. Murphy grew up in a politically active family that advocated citizen action. After campaigning, working on Capitol Hill, lending her talents to several elected officials, working for several different ACLU offices, she was offered the position of Director of the Washington Legislative office in 1993 and was the first woman, African America, and has been the longest serving Director of the DC Legislative Office.
Almost 46,000 individuals are behind bars for non-violent drug offenses and can now apply for clemency. While there is a strong libertarian movement questioning the war on drugs, many state legislatures grapple with the budgetary implications of an expanding prison population. Furthermore, many religious movements are advocating redemption. There are also those who express concern that that the application of justice with respect to the war on drugs comes down with disparate representation regarding minority groups.
Ms. Murhpy’s observed major changes in the Republican Party since 2008. Whereas the the party once ostracized members who challenged party orthodoxy, it now seemingly welcomes more dissent under the big tent. The Democrats, Ms. Murphy observers, have some serious hawkish elements.
Lately, the ACLU has been at the forefront of the battle against the unprecedented surveillance by government agencies like the NSA, the use of torture by the CIA, and overreach by law enforcement agencies.
Rights of Blacks became an issue when American born Africans became legalized citizens of America in 1865. From that moment forward, constant objection to Africans being citizens of America brought hatred of the race. With African citizenship the poorest of Americans lost their place in society. The wealthiest of Americans lost their human property. They south lost the war, thereby lost the right to human ownership. The poor of the south had no class of people to master over. This is where we are today. Although the American born African was free, their were little rights to go along with that freedom. Equality for the freed people was not on the to-do-list of whites in America. Equality only began to make its way into society because there was always men who refused to be slaves. They created chaos and they gave their lives rather than be ensalved ever again. It was because of the deaths and terror in the land that whites come to realize they could find ways to follow the law, while denying blacks their rights. The Black Code Laws were adopted soon aftr slavery and so we live today constantly trying to change and eliminate those Black Code laws. Because blacks chose equality, eventually whites would stand with blacks for equality for all races. Whites were ortrichized and given names aking to names given to black, merely because they chose peace by endorsing equality for the races. The tool required to gain equality was at the ballot box. And so beginning in the 1940's the movement began. By the time the 50's ended blacks demanded more and was tired of waiting. By the 1960's the year of the flower children The races joined forces and and there were marches, and sit its to protest. Lives were lost but people keep marching. Read the March 15, 1965 speech LBJ gave to congress that fits into 2014. Pick up a Voters Guide and pick your politicians carefully.
This episode will pick up the conversation from September 11, 2014. We will follow up on the issue of Business and Economic develpoment in senate district 19. Candidate Rueben Dockery will highlight the last legislative session as related to twenty bills sponsored by the incumbent Senator Thelma Harper and their affect on the dire condition of constituents.
America and the world is racist in policy to black people and at the same time ask why young black males are so angry. The anger comes from frustration and confusion of what to do. THe Kingdom of David will channel that anger to a peaceful love revolution that will bring hope, respect, restitution and reparations to Africa and her children in America and the rest of the world.
This broadcast announces the global revolution that must come from Jerusalem in order to restore hope. There is a war between good and evil and Jerusalem must lead the forces of good against the tyrannical forces of evil that wish to shackled man kind into a global new world order.,
Our fight is not against flesh and blood, but a spiritual battle that will erupt into love, truth and Justice by the establishment of the Kingdom of David.
This program is 100% listener supported and will not continue beyond the trail period without your support. We will stop broadcasting by October 5th 2014 unless sufficient funds are received to cover blog talk fees and other expenses.

Poor people, we can vote our way to prosperity. The wealthiest of Americans and foreigners use US politicians to gain access to riches. The wealthiest of people pool their interest and gain access to politicians in a group called (ALEC) American Legislative Exchange Council. Poor people do not have equal access and so goes poverty. People in poverty do not and never have had equal access socially, judicially nor economically. Unless members of the working class stand up to the top 1% of wealthiest of Americans things get worse, not better. Look around you and never expect more, because there is no way to make something out of the nothing you see. You have to be willing to change. If you want something you have to create something. There isn't much poor people can actually create with limited funds. But poor people, we can create a conglomerate, that stands for political change, and expects to gain access to necessary elements to change poverty into a life of prosperity according to your desires. Voting is the way to prosperperity for the rich and the poor. Put voting first America. Register to Vote and use the vote to hire people who will perform the necessary actions allowing you opportunity to prosper from your efforts. And it is time we begin the serious talk about time limits and loss of jobs for US Senate and Congress.

President Obama has talked at length about his administration’s plans to counter terrorism. For some reason, some media folks continue to refer to the terrorist group as ISIS, even after the president’s reference to ISIL. A significant difference between ISIS and ISIL can be gleaned from your understanding of geographical influences on world history, particularly from an historically disadvantaged point of view. If the S in ISIS stands for Syria, is it logical that the L in ISIL would define the threat beyond Syria's border? A term Levantine that originally referred to European residents of the eastern Mediterranean region, later came to refer to regional native and minority groups. Tune in for insights on the majority and the minority.
