My wonderful husband joins the Midday Money Show for the first time in our podcasting history to open up our private time (a small slice) for the purpose of advancing personal finance knowledge. In this episode, we lay out both of our positions on why leasing is a bad (my take) idea or why it works (his thoughts) for some.
As I listen to both of our sides, I think....I should have said this....or I should have said that. Either way, there is still much left to discuss. This is a good introduction. However, I like this exercise because we have many personal finance areas of contention. They can be heated, but they don't have to be.
Maybe all of our topics of intense fellowship should be recorded for the masses to partake in. We might just always be on our best behavior. I hope this helps you think through a few topics if you are considering whether to lease, fix your current car, or buy a new (or new to you) car in the near future. Enjoy!
Often when people live with a boyfriend or a girlfriend, they sign a lease together. But if the relationship becomes violent, it can be damaging to a person’s credit and finances to try to get out of the lease. This podcast with Kristina Regal explores what rights tenants have when they seek the protection from the courts for domestic violence.

One of the key responsibilities of a school board member is negotiating the contract for teachers and staff. It is, by far, the place where most of the district’s financial resources are allocated; as well it establishes other protocols which affect student achievement. Each year brings new challenges. In 2015, what are those challenges? How should boards approach the Chapter 78 health benefit reform legislation? What is the importance of average settlement rates? How long can a district expect negotiations to take? What are some common misperceptions the public has about negotiations? Please join host Ray Pinney as he discusses these and other issues with Patrick Duncan, Manager of NJSBA Labor Relations Department.

Those beautiful flowers you see at a wedding or fancy event cost tons of money. At the end of the night those elaborate displays usually go straight in the trash, unless some enterprising partygoer takes them home. That's where ReBloom steps in.
Rebloom recycles the floral arrangements after big events, so they end up at your wedding the next day for cheap, or on your dining room table or on your desk at the office.instead of disappearing after a single night.
On this episode of Smart Companies Radio you'll meet CEO and founder Jennifer Soffen who will share with guest host Mary McKenna how she developed the business that combined cheaper flowers with giving to charity and recycling.
