Back on Stage as A Rockstar After Alvin Ailey Career Ending Injury - Danni Gee

    in Entrepreneur

Danni Gee began dancing professionally with Philadanco at 15. She toured with Alvin Ailey as principal & soloist for 7 years. Then a career ending injury changed everything. Listen now as we discuss: recovery, pain, overeating, acting out, and returning to the stage as a singer and monster rock star.

Danni Gee shares honest insight about “mourning the loss of a dance career", getting professional help, and the power of saying, “At least I did it.”

@DaniiGeeNYC is the Curator of Dance for SummerStage dance festival in New York.

This multi-talented artist, is in constant demand providing guest vocals for several acts including Def Jam, Gloria Gaynor, CHER & others.

After cutting her teeth with these various artists, Danni decided to step out on her own. She needed to bring life to her own eclectic vision and in the summer of 1999 Suga Bush was born.

"My songs tend to be a little, um, personal...sometimes raw. Single -  'Monster' came about in the aftermath of a pretty rough break-up. Writing these songs is my therapy...and performing them helps me release my demons and maybe some folks in our audience too!"

Journey in the Scriptures with Laurie Ann Smith

    in Christianity

Tonights journey is Genesis 15:3-21. Do you love God's Word? I DO! I am a fourth year theological seminary student with a serious love for God's Word! God and His Word are one and I love God! It has been on my heart to do another show starting in Genesis 1:1 and daily journeying through the Bible to the last chapter of the Book of Revelation. I love to share God's Word and really delve into every aspect surrounding each passage. I am a non-denomination born again Believer, a Christian who is following Jesus daily, each and every day, to hopefully honor and glorify Him, exalt Him, and remain a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior. I am currently working toward a Bachelor of Ministry Degree, and then hope to obtain a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling, and following that I hope to obtain a Doctorate of Theological Studies. I have achieved an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies graduating with Honors, and I have a diploma in Biblical Counseling. I hope to share with you the joy and importance of understanding the Bible as I have been taught by many great teachers. I hope you will join me. Please feel free to correct me if at any point I get off track, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I am a student of God's Word, as we all are; those of us who study God's Word. Do we ever get to the point where we stop learning the truth of God's Word? I don't think so. From the most knowledgeable scholar and Theologian, to the most humble and lowly student like myself, we will never fully be able to learn everything there is to know about God or His Word. This is the very reason I am so eager to share God's Word. I hope you will join me! God Bless us all!
