Nice Guys Finish Last: Ep 1. Introduction

    in Motivation

I'm a nice guy and DAMN proud of it. I've been through it all, being played, taking adavantaged of, and hell I even saw that my relationship ended on FaceBook. It made stronger. My stories are ways where I can help my fellow gender to find that happiness. It's like what Will Smith told us in "Hitch", "No matter what, no matter who, no matter when, any man has a chance to sweep any woman off her feet. He just needs the right broom." I want to help the two gender to call and vent about their personal relationship struggle and find a way to help them get motivated for a better life. Always remember "Life is not the amounts of breath we take, its the moments that take our breath away".

THE LAST DAYS SIGNS AND PROPHECY!

    in Christianity

In the movements now in progress in the United States to secure for the institutions and usages of the church the support of the state, Protestants are following in the steps of papists. Nay, more, they are opening the door for the papacy to regain in Protestant America the supremacy which she has lost in the Old World. And that which gives greater significance to this movement is the fact that the principal object contemplated is the enforcement of Sunday observance--a custom which originated with Rome, and which she claims as the sign of her authority. It is the spirit of the papacy--the spirit of conformity to worldly customs, the veneration for human traditions above the commandments of God--that is permeating the Protestant churches and leading them on to do the same work of Sunday exaltation which the papacy has done before them. If the reader would understand the agencies to be employed in the soon-coming contest, he has but to trace the record of the means which Rome employed for the same object in ages past. If he would know how papists and Protestants united will deal with those who reject their dogmas, let him see the spirit which Rome manifested toward the Sabbath and its defenders. GC 573-574

Is It Acceptable For A Husband To Take His Wife's Last Name?

    in Culture

The newlyweds knew it would be surprising. As Donna and Mike entered their wedding reception, an unwitting announcer told the expectant crowd, "Ladies and gentleman, put your hands together for the new Mr. and Mrs. Salinger!"Some guests clapped, some chuckled at what they presumed was a joke and most looked at one another in confusion. The couple spent the entire reception and some of their honeymoon explaining to people what they had done. The groom, you see, had started his day as Mike Davis and ended it by doing something precious few of his brothers-in-arms do: He took his wife's last name instead of her taking his. They were married in November. "We figured they'd say 'Huh' and get on with it."Three months later, I'm still taking (flak) from one of my college roommates."The Salingers broke a patriarchal tradition so ingrained in American society that many women's studies researchers have yet to study it. "It hasn't been a large enough social phenomenon that it's hit the radar as something to be studied."That may be coming. The California Legislature is set to consider a bill this month that would allow men to change their surnames upon marriage as seamlessly as women now can. Only seven states now allow a man who wishes to alter his name after his wedding to do so without going through the laborious, frequently expensive legal process set out by the courts for any name change. Women don't have to do so.The bill is co-sponsored by the ACLU of California as a follow-up to a federal lawsuit the civil rights group filed in December on behalf of Michael Buday, a Los Angeles man who wants to take on his wife's surname, Bijon, to show his affinity for his father-in-law. He accuses the state of gender discrimination for forcing him into the more complex process.
