Andrea Lara has participated in two marathons. She states that "the experience was life changing and believes that it helped shape the person she is today."
Marco Arteaga is 50-years old and an avid runner who has ran over 24 Marathons and 5 fifty milers in the last 14 years. His fastest marathon time is 2:42 minutes. Marco shares "running comes natural to me and it brings a great feeling of accomplishment."
Israel Gonzales Will be in his 16th LA Marathon. His first Marathon was when he was 12 years old. His fastest Marathon was 2 hours 46 minutes. The marathon is a family activity that they do annually. Last year they had about 13 family and friends running the LA Marathon. It is also a physical and mental challenge for him that, as he states, "makes me stronger and reminds me to never give up."
Today Steve Gordon and Dana Reeves will be talking about a variety of topics, from the best cities to launch your startup, to whether or not you should drain your 401k to start your company, and if you’re having trouble figuring out what business to start, we’ll share 7 hot, but kind of wacky, ideas that entrepreneurs should consider.
They’ll also be talking with special guest, Lara Dolan, about the impact her volunteerism has had on her business and her family.
Currently a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty Consultants, Lara specializes in residential and equestrian properties and lives here in Alpharetta with her husband and two daughters. She got her start in business with a number of sales and marketing positions with technology and consulting companies. After leaving the work force for a number of years while her daughters were young, she chose real estate as her marketplace re-entry point. Lara started her own company, Kismet Management, to help clients get through the real estate down-market by finding qualified tenants for their single-family homes, and managing those properties on behalf of her clients. In 2013, Lara sold Kismet Management and turned her focus toward traditional real estate, creating the Craft Dolan Team at Keller Williams.
In addition to work and family, Lara passionately supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, chairing several large fundraising events, and as a member of the Georgia CFF Volunteer Board. In 2006, family friends in New York lost their then 13-year-old daughter to cystic fibrosis. Suddenly it wasn’t enough to just write a check – and that’s when Lara’s commitment to raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was born.
At our age, we love to reminisce… and no time better represents our rebellious spirit than the late ‘60s. Author Lara Reznik brings back those heady—and hedonistic—days in her riveting book, The Girl From Long Guyland. The novel centers on a successful boomer woman of today who reluctantly revisits her past, only to be confronted with the unlikely combination of murder, betrayal and romance.
Be sure to tune in to hear the author share all about this tale of past, present and buried secrets!
It was the most in-demand fight the fans could conceive of, at least the one that the powers that be could actually make, and yet, it was not as exciting when Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Erislandy Lara actually got into the ring in front of an extremely pro “Canelo” crowd at the MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The headline was “Puncher vs. Boxer” and the big question was whether or not Canelo was a big enough puncher to stop Lara from picking him apart, not necessarily stop Lara — although it was the only outcome some could foresee that would give Canelo a chance to have his hand raised at the end of the night — but prevent him from running away with the fight.
However, it wouldn’t be enough for Canelo to just not lose; he also had to find a way to win rounds, multiple rounds, rounds in succession. We will with out a shadow of a doubt be taking live calls on air from you the voice of the people. Ok I just liked the title but there is truth to it. Canelo Alvarez has been touted as the future of boxing but can he get past such a superb technician as Lara? In this video we go over many of great attributes of the fighter known as ErisLandy Lara and how those attirbutes may factor into the fight. The next video we will speak about Canelo Alvarez and all of his strengths in what is being called a 50/50 fight.
Erislandy Lara fought an intelligent fight Saturday night, frustrating Canelo Alvarez with his quickness, movement, longer reach and his seeming ease at slipping punches.
But in the end Alvarez's body work won over at least one of the judges decisively as he came away with a split decision victory in a 12-round light middleweight bout at the sold-out MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Judge Levi Martinez scored it 117-111 for Alvarez, while Jerry Roth scored it 115-113 for Lara and Dave Moretti had it 115-113 for Alvarez.
Lara landed 10 more total punches than Alvarez, but Alvarez was well ahead on power punches, landing most of them to Lara's body.
Canelo, the 23-year-old Mexican superstar, is 44-1-1 with 31 KOs, and Lara, 31, who defected twice from Cuba, is 19-2-2 with 12 KOs.
Lara said he was "100% sure" he won the fight and asked for a rematch.
"I still have no respect for him," he said. "I want a rematch. I will do the same and I will win again."
Alvarez said he would give Lara a rematch "when he learns to fight."
Alvarez earned $1.5 million and Lara $1 million for the fight. Lara's WBA light middleweight title was not up for grabs in the non-title fight, which was contracted at 155 pounds, one pound over the 154-pound limit.

As surprisingly good as fights have been lately, we can only replay them so many times. We're boxing fans. We need to be constantly entertained, or we get pissy. Luckily we're kind of being thrown a bone this coming weekend with a high level match up in Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Erislandy Lara. It's the type of bout that, on paper at least, is excllenet in just about every aspect. But don't worry. Bad Left Hook's James Foley and Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules will find things to complain about -- like a weak undercard and the fact that it's on Pay-Per-View. Or perhaps that Ruslan Chagaev holds a heavyweight "belt" again. Who knows? Either way, thanks for tuning in!
