#MyRealTalkRadio Interviews Queen Of The Dancehall: Lady Saw
She is the first female Jamaican artist to win a Grammy, certify as a triple-platinum artist and headline dancehall shows outside her native country. Born Marion Hall in Galina (parish of Saint Mary), she started her career on local sound systems like many artists on the island. As a female artist in a male-dominated world of Jamaican dancehall reggae, Lady Saw defeated all odds when she went on to top the Jamaican charts with “Find a Good Man.” In 1999, she had a major hit in the United States with “Smile,” recorded with Vitamin C, which peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also a major hit in New Zealand and Canada and made certified gold with over 500,000 sales. In 2002, her collaboration with No Doubt, “Underneath It All” reached number three in the U.S. and sold more than three million copies, reaching triple platinum certification. The track also won a Grammy Award for ‘Best Performance by a Duo or Group.’ Lady Saw released a total of 6 albums on VP Records and then formed her own label called Divas Records. In 2010, she released her first independent album entitled My Way, which was later followed up by the hot single Heels On that reached #1 on all Caribbean charts globally. Saw is known mostly for her daring sexually-explicit lyrics and sassy style, but she is a very versatile artist. Saw’s stage persona as Lady Saw is a distinct contrast to her true self Marion Hall.” When she was younger, Saw sang in her church choir, so it wasn’t far fetch she announced that she would be concentrating on Gospel music in 2012. Now she teams back up with the VP Records via VPAL for distrubution only on her new album Alter Ego, which is available now on iTunes!

According to Unity Spiritual Leader, Temple Hayes, many people do not realize there are many layers of being asleep and dying while we are living. We are so caught up in the motions of living, eating, and working that we don't realize we stop pursuing our potential along the way.
We have become robotic! How do you know whether you've been dying a bit every day? One key way is to notice if you are feeling disconnected or drained rather than energized or impassioned about your life, the inner cause of feeling disconnected and drained.
Join Temple Hayes and me on Tuesday, November 18, 10-11 A.M. CT US, as we discuss her latest book When Did You Die? 8 Steps to Stop Dying Every Day and Start Waking Up, and be on our way to achieving success.

"The Writer’s Circle of Champions"
My guest this Tuesday is Charmaine Hammond, an international speaker, and bestselling award winning author. She describes herself as an accidental author... She hadn't really thought about writing a book however, her dog Toby gave her so much to write about, she wrote a story for Chicken Soup for the Soul. Shortly after that she met a publisher who wanted to turn Toby's story into a book. She now has three books in the Toby series (2 are for children), a personal development book, GPS Your Best Life co-authored with her dear friend Debra Kasowski, and is featured in five other books. In the past five years she has learned a great deal about writing, the publishing world, and, marketing and selling your books. She loves to share her learnings with authors to help save them from some of the time consuming and costly mistakes and learnings she experienced so you can just get on with writing and sharing your message with the world!
There are many choices authors make about where to spend their time, money and other resources. Charmaine discovered with her first book that you can share your message with more people and impact more lives when you bring on a circle of champions, and corporate partners and sponsors. Charmaine has been successful (and so have her students) in having corporate partners sponsor her presentations, tours, events, and even bulk orders of books to provide to schools, and attendees at her events. From having her clothing sponsored to having hotels host her stay, and having the products she needs like printing, marketing materials and office supplies provided by businesses.
