Roosevelt Sargent with Boyd and Lucinda

    in Lifestyle

Roosevelt Sargent was born into a violent, drug infested, poverty-filled world that only got worse as he grew older. With his parents’ incarceration, his journey through homelessness, and the thug lifestyle that surrounded him daily, the smart money was on him not living to reach the age of eighteen. Add in teenage parenthood, and his brief future seemed predetermined.

But then one day something happened that would change him forever.

From then on he was a new man. Sargent became a published writer of nationally and internationally distributed music projects and he spent over fifteen years traveling and sharing his story to inspire hope in the lives of troubled youth across America. During this time he also founded a neighborhood youth center in Southern California where he selflessly served his local community and now, he is publishing his first book Victorious Underdog.

From the dead man he should’ve been to the inspirational man he was meant to be, Roosevelt Sargent is the Victorious Underdog.Today Roosevelt resides in Fort Worth, Texas where he continues to serve and impact the lives of many he comes in contact with each day.

Monique Taylor with Boyd and Lucinda

    in Lifestyle

Monique Newell Taylor was born and raised on the East Side of Kansas City, Missouri. She had a traumatic childhood that included violence, sexual abuse, alcoholism, and an eating disorder that started at age five and lasted until she turned 40. She was 21 years old when she started out on a journey of drug addiction that would last over two decades and take her down roads and to places that no one could have ever imagined she would go.

Over 65 arrests with four of them being felonies to include; prostitution, auto theft, commercial burglary, habitual shoplifter, transporting 90 pounds of Marijuana crossing the Tijuana border, unlawful felony possession of cocaine arrest in the notorious Mc Arthur park by dirty Cops from the Rampart Division Scandal in the 90’s,forgery and last but not least participating in a bank robbery. Her addiction took her across the United States on a drug hungered crime spree that lasted for over two decades. Her story shows how violence and addiction ravaged her family for three generations with sibling and children who were involved in murder, by self defense. It seemed like she was as addicted to Bad Boys and unhealthy relationships as bad as she was the drugs. Choosing men who drug her down time and time again.

Today she has turned her life over to God and has not used crack for seven years. God healed her relationships with her children and family, she is newlywed to a Pastor who was widowed with 3 small children. She wishes to share her story of God’s Grace as she was a woman who hated herself, abandoned her children, was in and out of prison, whose parents never gave up on her.  And now that she finally has a happy ending, she would like to share, inspire and give hope to others.

In 1984, on the advice of his attorney Robert Simone, Martorano pled guilty to 19 counts of drug possession and distribution.[2] Martorano was subsequently advised by both the prosecution and the judge, John Berne Hannum, that this plea could result in a sentence of life without the possibility of parole.[2] The prosecution, however, had only recommended a sentence of from 40 to 54 months. On September 20, 1984,[2] Martorano was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, the longest prison term ever imposed on a first-time non-violent offender in American history. One of the harshest sentences ever handed out George Martorano is the longest-serving first-time non-violent offender in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole
